WWE Raw Results 12/16 - Two Championships On The Line, Women's IC Championship Tournament Continues

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results for "WWE Raw" on December 16, 2024, coming to you live from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts!

After being able to dethrone GUNTHER as World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat Match against him and archrival Damian Priest at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event this past Saturday, Finn Balor will be joining forces with JD McDonagh to put their World Tag Team Championship on the line against The War Raiders. Erik and Ivar previously successfully challenged The Judgment Day members for their title on the November 25 episode of "Raw".

Another title will be on the line tonight, as Bron Breakker defends the Intercontinental Championship against Ludwig Kaiser. The two have had their fair share of issues with one another over the course of the past few weeks, with Kaiser scoring a win over Breakker on the November 25 episode of "Raw" thanks to interference at the hands of Sheamus and having been unable to dethrone Breakker as titleholder at WWE Survivor Series: WarGame in a Triple Threat Match with Sheamus.

Raquel Rodriguez will be going head-to-head with Zoey Stark and Kayden Carter in a First Round Triple Threat Match for the Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament. Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria have already secured their spots in the semifinals, with the former having defeated Shayna Baszler and Katana Chance in another First Round Triple Threat match, and the latter emerging victorious over Zelina Vega and Ivy Nile.

Additionally, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of New Day will be appearing on tonight's show with something on their minds to share after looking to do so last week but finding themselves unable to speak over the uproar of the crowd due to their heated confrontation with Big E two weeks ago. CM Punk will also be speaking in the opening moments of tonight's edition of "Raw", as will Seth "Freakin" Rollins after having some choice words for each other last week.

We are live! Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore greet audiences at home as CM Punk makes his way out to the ring.

We Hear From CM Punk

Punk says it's great to be alive on a Monday night in Boston. He says he's feeling a little low and in a bit of a bad mood because of his confrontation with Seth "Freakin" Rollins two weeks ago. He says Rollins was right in saying that it's only a matter of time before they lock up in the ring, and he also knows that Rollins is going to interrupt him doing one thing he loves in talking to the fans. He says Rollins told the world that he ghosted him, and while it's true, he's looking forward to the future rather than the past. He admits to being a bad guy, and warns Rollins that the last guy who came after him was Drew McIntyre. He asks Rollins if he's tougher than McIntyre.

Rollins starts chanting Punk with fans as Punk leads them, and appears in the crowd. He says life is about perspective, then calls Punk an a******. Punk tells Rollins he belongs in the audience with the rest of his fans, and Rollins says he will always be a fan. He says he put WWE on his back and made it stronger when Punk abandoned it, and Rollins makes his way to the ring. Punk meets him in the crowd, and the two begin to brawl. Adam Pearce and other officials then appear at ringside and separate the two men.

Ludwig Kaiser then makes his way down to the ring.

Back from the break, we see an argument between Rollins and Pearce. McIntyre approaches Rollins, and the two get into a verbal confrontation over a potential alliance given their common enemies with McIntyre being for the idea and Rollins against it.

Back at ringside, Bron Breakker makes his way out.

Back from the break, Breakker rains down right hands on Kaiser in the corner. Breakker catches Kaiser with a spinebuster and pins him, but Kaiser kicks out. Breakker connects with a bodyslam, then hits a suplex and a clothesline on Kaiser off the apron that sends him crashing over the announce desk. The pair get back in the ring, and Breakker sits Kaiser on the top turnbuckle. Kaiser escapes and fires off stomps on Breakker's shoulder, then begins targeting his shoulder and wears it down before he connects with a dropkick to his shoulder.

Back from another break, Breakker rains down right hands on Kaiser. Kaiser sends Breakker's shoulder bouncing off the top rope and delivers a stomp to it, then connects with a kick on it. Breakker rocks Kaiser with a jumping knee and levels him with a pair of clothesline, then connects with a flying back elbow and sits him on the top turnbuckle. Breakker connects with a hurricanrana off the top rope, but Kaiser responds with a Death Valley Driver to him and goes for a pin. Breakker kicks out, and Kaiser continues wearing his shoulder down with a submission hold.

We then head backstage and see New Day looking to enter the men's locker room. Rey Mysterio emerges and informs Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston that it's best if they get changed elsewhere after their exchange with Big E a couple of weeks ago.

Back from the break, we head over to Cathy Kelley and Adam Pearce. Pearce announces that CM Punk will be taking on Seth "Freakin" Rollins on the January 6 episode.

Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio, and Raquel Rodriguez then all make their way down to the ring. Dominik demands that the live crowd put their hands together to welcome the greatest World Champion of all time. Morgan brags about being Women's World Champion, but Rhea Ripley's music cuts her off and she informs Morgan that she is the new Number One Contender to her title.

We then head backstage and see Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre brawling with each other outside the arena before Zoey Stark and Kayden Carter make their way down to the ring. Rodriguez is already waiting inside.

Raquel Rodriguez vs. Zoey Stark vs. Kayden Carter in a First Round Triple Threat Match for the Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament

Stark breaks the fall, then fires off right hands on Rodriguez. Carter looks to land a Monkey Flip on Stark, but Stark lands on her feet and hits a DDT on Rodriguez. Stark delivers a superkick to Rodriguez on the apron, but Rodriguez levels her with a boot. Carter then delivers a Tornillo through the middle rope to level both Carter and Rodriguez on the outside.

Back from the break, Rodriguez sends Stark crashing out of the ring with a shoulder pounce. Carter rolls up Rodriguez, but Rodriguez kicks out. She sends Stark and Carter crashing into each other, but Stark connects with the Z360 on Carter for the win.

JD McDonagh and Ivar begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. Ivar runs over McDonagh with a shoulder tackle and drags Finn Balor into the ring, then connects with a bodyslam on McDonagh and lands a second one on Balor on top of McDonagh. Erik tags in and Ivar bodyslams McDonagh before Erik bodyslams Ivar on top of McDonagh.

Back from the break, Balor connects with his signature elbow drop on Ivar, then hits a series of stomps on Ivar using the ropes. McDonagh tags back in, but Ivar levels him and Balor. Erik tags in and connects with a suplex on McDonagh, then levels him with a right hand and follows it up with a spinning back suplex. He connects with a chokeslam on Balor, then levels McDonagh and dumps him over the top rope and to the outside. Erik runs the ropes, but Balor grabs his ankle. This opens the door for McDonagh to connect with a Hip Attack to Erik that sends him crashing to the outside and tag in Balor. Balor and McDonagh then send Erik crashing into the ring steps twice.

Back from another break, McDonagh looks to land an elbow drop on Erik off the middle rope. Erik moves out of the way, then tags in Ivar. Ivar levels McDonagh with a Sidewalk Slam and connects with a low crossbody, then connects with a senton on Balor in the corner and ascends to the top. Balor trips Ivar, then tags in McDonagh.

McDonagh joins Ivar on the ropes, but Ivar connects with a powerslam on him and tags in Erik. Erik tosses McDonagh over to Ivar, and Ivar lands an over the shoulder powerslam on him. Erik pins McDonagh, but Balor breaks the fall. The War Raiders look to double team on McDonagh, but Balor trips Ivar. McDonagh rolls up Erik in the ring, but Erik kicks out.

Balor tags back in, but Erik fires off strikes on him and connects with a knee to the back of his neck and delivers a Sling Blade. Balor dropkicks Erik into the corner, and McDonagh delivers a moonsault off the top. Balor follows it up with a Coup De Grace and pins Erik, but Erik kicks out. McDonagh then grabs a chair at the request of Balor, but the referee catches him. Balor grabs a chair of his own, but Damian Priest stops him from bringing it into the ring. While the referee has his back turned, Ivar levels McDonagh with a clothesline. Ivar then tags in and War Raiders connect with War Machine for the win.
