WWE SmackDown Results 12/13 - Cody Rhodes & Kevin Owens Meet, Women's US Title Tournament Semi-Finals Matches

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results for "WWE SmackDown" on December 13, 2024, coming to you from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut!

One night out from squaring off with each other for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, titleholder Cody Rhodes and his challenger Kevin Owens will be coming face-to-face with each other one last time. After Rhodes defeated Chad Gable in the main event of last week's edition of "SmackDown", Owens blindsided him with an attack and targeted his ankle which Gable had worn down during the match.

With the finals of the Women's United States Championship Tournament set for tomorrow night, the two competitors who will battle it out to become the inaugural titleholder will be revealed tonight as Chelsea Green goes one-on-one with Bayley while Tiffany Stratton collides with Michin in a pair of semi-finals matches. Green defeated Bianca Belair and Blair Davenport in a Triple Threat First Round match to secure her spot in the semi-finals, while Bayley defeated Candice LeRae and B-Fab, Stratton emerged victorious over Naomi and Elektra Lopez, and Michin beat Lash Legend and Piper Niven.

Carmelo Hayes will be competing in his first match on "SmackDown" since coming up short against Cody Rhodes on the November 29 edition of the show when he faces a mystery opponent. While the identity of Hayes' opponent has yet to be revealed, "SmackDown" General Manager Nick Aldis did reveal in a video posted to WWE's X page running down the card for tonight's show that they were the newest addition to the brand.

Additionally, Solo Sikoa will be taking on LA Knight after the former and his Bloodline stablemates left Knight and Andrade laid out in the ring while they were in the midst of a verbal confrontation with each other and United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.

We are live! Michael Cole and Wade Barrett greet audiences at home as Jimmy Uso makes his way down to the ring.

We Hear From Jimmy Uso

Jimmy says WarGames was lit and while it didn't get Jim, it got his big toe. He says WarGames meant everything to him because he stood alongside his family as families watched at home. He says for years, he watched his family dominate and entertain the WWE Universe, and the fact that they get to continue doing so is a dream. He expresses how proud he is of each of his family members including Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Solo Sikoa, then addresses what's next for him.

Jimmy says he doesn't know what's next for him, but there's many possibilities. He says a New Year is coming for him, but Drew McIntyre blindsides him with a Claymore Kick before he can leave the ring and rains down right hands on him. Officials run down to pull McIntyre off Jimmy.

Back from the break, we see Nick Aldis chew out McIntyre for his actions. Bianca Belair and Naomi approach him as Aldis tells McIntyre to wait in his office. Aldis then tells Belair and Naomi that their investigation into who took out Jade Cargill several weeks ago has hit a dead end, and informs Belair that she will have to relinquish the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. Naomi proposes being Belair's new partner, and Aldis says if that's the case, they need to be ready to defend as early as next week.

Back at ringside, Tiffany Stratton makes her way out to the ring. Michin follows.

Michin vs. Tiffany Stratton in a Semi-Finals Match for the Women's United States Championship Tournament

The bell rings and the two lock up. Michin connects with a dropkick on Stratton, but Stratton whips her into the corner. Michin takes down Stratton with a hurricanrana, then dumps her out of the ring and lands a dropkick through the bottom rope. Stratton trips Michin on the apron, then delivers a dropkick to her.

Back from the break, Stratton looks to land a running stomp on Michin. Michin moves out of the way and delivers a kick to Stratton off the apron, then dumps her inside the ring and connects with a pair of Tornado DDTs. She goes for a pin, but Stratton kicks out. Stratton sets up for an Alabama Slam, but Michin escapes and delivers a dropkick to Stratton off the ropes. Stratton responds with an Alabama Slam and pins Michin, but Michin kicks out.

Michin cinches in a Sleeper on Stratton, but Stratton escapes. The pair teeter on the ropes, but Stratton trips Michin and pulls her off them. She sends her crashing into the mat and connects with Prettiest Moonsault Ever. Michin manages to avoid it and connects with Eat Defeat for the win.

Winner: Michin

Back from the break, we head over to a video message from Roman Reigns challenging Solo Sikoa to a Tribal Combat match for the title of "Tribal Chief" on the January 6, 2025 episode of "WWE Raw".

Carmelo Hayes then makes his way down to the ring. His mystery opponent and the newest member of "SmackDown" roster, Braun Strowman, follows.

Carmelo Hayes vs. Braun Strowman

The bell rings and Hayes looks to shove Strowman. Strowman no-sells it and Hayes looks to level him with a springboard clothesline, but Strowman stays standing once again and Hayes fires off right hands on his spine. Strowman charges at Hayes in the corner, but Hayes moves out of the way and Strowman is sent crashing into the ring post shoulder first. Hayes being to string together some offensive moves and ascends to the top, then looks to land a crossbody. Strowman catches him and delivers a running powerslam to him for the win.

Winner: Braun Strowman

The Bloodline then make their way out to the ring. LA Knight follows.

Solo Sikoa (w/ Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga) vs. LA Knight

The bell rings and Knight fires off right hands on Sikoa. Sikoa connects with a splash on Knight in the corner and levels him, then continues to wear him down on the outside. Knight sends Sikoa crashing into the ring steps and rains down right hands on him on the announce desk, then dumps him back in. Sikoa catches Knight with a Samoan Drop, but Knight sends Sikoa crashing into the mat. Knight low bridges Sikoa out of the ring before Sikoa sends Knight crashing into the announce desk face first.

Back from the break, Knight rains down right hands on Sikoa and connects with a knee to him in the corner. Knight delivers a splash off the apron to level Fatu and Tama Tonga on the outside, then sends Fatu crashing on top of the announce desk with a back body drop.

Back in the ring, Sikoa sets up for a Samoan Spike on Knight. Knight avoids it. Fatu and Tama then attack Knight on the outside, causing the disqualification.

Winner: LA Knight (via disqualification)

Fatu and Tama dump Knight back inside the ring, where Sikoa is waiting with a Samoan Spike. Tama and Fatu continue to beat down Knight, but Andrade and Apollo Crews run down to the ring to even the odds until The Bloodline takes them down.

Bayley then makes her way down to the ring. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven follow.

Chelsea Green (w/ Piper Niven) vs. Bayley in a Semi-Finals Match for the Women's United States Championship Tournament

The bell rings and Bayley rolls up Green. Green kicks out and rolls up Bayley, but Bayley counters into a pin of her own. Green then reverses into another pinfall, but Bayley kicks out and Green fires off stomps on her in the corner. Bayley connects with a pair of arm drags on Green and rolls her up, but Green kicks out and Bayley levels her with a clothesline.

Back from the break, Green connects with an enzuigiri on Bayley and sends her crashing into the mat face first. The pair exchange forearm strikes with each other on the apron, but Bayley connects with a jawbreaker on Green using the middle rope and delivers a sliding clothesline. She rains down right hands on Green, then delivers a suplex to her using the ring apron for assistance. She dumps Green back inside the ring and follows her.

Bayley connects with a back suplex on Green and goes for a pin, but Green kicks out and ascends to the top. She looks to land a Vader Bomb, but Bayley moves out of the way and delivers a running knee to Green. She follows it up with a Sunset Flip into the corner and pins Green, but Green kicks out. Bayley sets up for the Bayley-To-Belly, but Green avoids it and levels Bayley with a leg lariat. She goes for a pin, but Bayley kicks out.

Bayley ascends to the top, but Niven pulls Green out of the ring before she can fly. Bayley levels Niven with an elbow drop off the top, but Green takes advantage and sends Bayley crashing over the barricade. She gets back in the ring, and the referee beats a ten count. Bayley beats it, but walks into an Unprettiher from Green for the win.

Winner: Chelsea Green

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens Meet In The Ring

Michael Cole introduces Rhodes and he makes his way down to the ring. He introduces Owens, but Owens doesn't appear. Cole addresses Triple H giving a gift to Rhodes on social media, but Owens interrupts him on the Titan Tron in his car. He tells Cole to ask Rhodes how he can be okay with using his friends to help him and spit in their faces by teaming with Roman Reigns at WWE Bad Blood. He says the truth is that Rhodes was way more interesting as Stardust.

Rhodes storms out of the ring looking for Owens, but Owens attacks him from behind in the backstage area. The pair brawl back out to the ringside area through the Gorilla position and continue to do so. A couple of security guards run down to break the two men apart, but Rhodes takes them out. More security guards and officials appear, looking to separate the two men. Owens grabs the Undisputed WWE Championship and clocks Rhodes with it, standing tall as the show goes off the air.
