AEW Fright Night Dynamite Results 10/30 - Shelton Benjamin Vs. Swerve Strickland, World Tag Team Title Match

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results for AEW Fright Night Dynamite on October 30, 2024, coming to you live from the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio!

Shelton Benjamin will be returning to action following his win over Sammy Guevara during last week's edition of "AEW Dynamite" as he goes one-on-one with former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland. The two men have become familiar with one another over the course of the last few weeks, with Strickland having declined Benjamin and his stablemate MVP's offer to join the Hurt Syndicate.

After unsuccessfully challenging them for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at AEW WrestleDream on October 12, Private Party have another shot at capturing the title tonight as they collide with current titleholders The Young Bucks. If Zay and Quen are unable to capture the AEW World Tag Team Championship, then they will have to disband as a tag team as stated by Zay last week when he threw out the challenge to Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson for a rematch.

Kris Statlander and Kamille look to put their issues to rest once and for all tonight as they go head-to-head with one another. Tensions between the pair have meteorically risen over the past few weeks, culminating last week when Statlander confronted Kamille following her win against Queen Aminata and was blindsided by her and her ally Mercedes Mone.

As he looks to win three matches in a row before Roderick Strong in order to earn the right to face his former tag team partner MJF in a match, Adam Cole looks to score the first of those victories as he squares off with Buddy Matthews. Matthews and his House of Black stablemates Malakai Black and Brody King emerged victorious over Jaden Monroe, Kevin Koa, and Pirata De La Muerte last Wednesday in quick fashion.

Additionally, Orange Cassidy will be appearing on tonight's show after his ally Chuck Taylor was attacked by AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, Marina Shafir, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli following the main event of last week's show. "Hangman" Adam Page will also be sharing something on his mind after he came face-to-face with Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Colten Gunn in a physical and verbal altercation last week.

We are live! Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard greet audiences at home as Orange Cassidy makes his way down to the ring.

We Hear From Orange Cassidy

Cassidy says he doesn't do this or like this, but after last week when he slid into the ring and saw Chuck Taylor laid out in the ring, and says that Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, and Marina Shafir are dangerous. He says Moxley doesn't need AEW or never needed it, but he needs AEW. He says he knows what he needs to do to stop Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, and Marina Shafir: cut the head off the snake in order to make sure no one else gets hurt. He then challenges Moxley to a match for the AEW World Championship to take it out of his bag and into his backpack. He tells Moxley to come and find him, and says he's not hard to find as he's in the ring every week.

Adam Cole then makes his way out to the ring. Buddy Matthews follows.

Adam Cole vs. Buddy Matthews

The bell rings and the two shake hands with one another. They then lock up and go back and forth, but Matthews levels Cole with a shoulder tackle. Cole gets knocked to the outside and takes a moment to recover as we see Kyle O'Reilly watching the action from backstage. Matthews then levels Cole with a kick to his chest off the apron.

Back from the break, Matthews delivers a superplex to Colle off the top. Cole responds with a shoulderbreaker to Matthews, and the two exchange forearms with one another on the apron. Cole connects with a DDT on Matthews on the apron, but Matthews continues wearing down Cole's injured ankle in the ring and stomps on it on the ring steps.

A medical official helps Cole to the back after he deems him too unfit to compete, but Matthews calls him out and Cole gets back in the ring. The two continue to brawl, but Cole fires off a series of superkicks on Cole. Matthews responds with a Curb Stomp and pins Cole, but Cole kicks out and lands another superkick on Matthews. He follows it up with a thrust kick to his midsection and a Shining Wizard, then goes for a pin but Matthews kicks out.

Matthews powerbombs Cole into the corner and connects with a Curb Stomp, then goes for a pin. Cole quickly kicks out as we see MJF watching the action on a television elsewhere, then lands the Panama Sunrise on Matthews and follows it up with a second one to Matthews off the apron and on the outside. He gets Matthews back in the ring and delivers a second Shining Wizard for the win.

Winner: Adam Cole

After the match, Cole grabs a mic and says he appreciates Matthews pushing him to finish the match. He offers his hand to Matthews, and Cole shakes it. The lights then go out, and when they come back on, it's Malakai Black who's shaking Cole's hand instead as Matthews stands next to the two of them.

Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis then make their way out to the ramp.

Kyle Fletcher Comes Face-To-Face With A Familiar Face

Callis says Fletcher has something important to say, and Fletcher says he wants to keep to his word. He calls Will Ospreay out to ringside, but Ospreay's music hits. The United Empire's music hits instead, and Mark Davis makes his way out. Fletcher says it's nice to see Davis again, and Davis tells Fletcher that while he wishes that he could look him in the eye and say the same thing, he can't after what Fletcher did to Ospreay. Fletcher says all that's happened since Davis has been sidelined with an injury is that he had his eyes opened. He then tells Davis that he made sure that there would be a spot for him in The Don Callis Family upon his return. Davis says that they had an Empire and looks to walk to the back, but Fletcher warns Davis and tells him that he's seen what he does to people who don't listen to him.

We then head backstage to "Hangman" Adam Page and Renee Paquette, where the former sends a message to Jay White.

Jon Moxley, Marina Shafir (who is holding a briefcase), Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, and PAC then all make their way out to the ring.

Jon Moxley Calls Out Orange Cassidy

Moxley says fans will one day understand what he, Yuta, Castagnoli, Shafir, and PAC are trying to accomplish. He then addresses Orange Cassidy and says while Cassidy thinks that he challenged him to an AEW World Championship match, but in reality, he challenged him last week when he took out Chuck Taylor. He says Cassidy didn't want to step up and lead like the Cassidy he knows and respects. Moxley says when the time comes, Cassidy will fight him in a valley and it will be one that he's willing to die in. He says Cassidy thinks that he's focused, but in reality, he's become distracted.

PAC and Shafir blindside Yuta in place as Castagnoli places a chair around his neck. Cassidy runs down to save his former ally, but Castagnoli and PAC attack him as Shafir checks on Yuta after attacking him as part of their trap. Dark Order runs down to even the odds, but Moxley, Castagnoli, and PAC overpower them. PAC and Castagnoli place a chair around Cassidy's neck, but Darby Allin comes down from the rafters and begins brawling with Castagnoli. He bites him, but Castagnoli tosses him over the announce desk. Top Flight, Action Andretti, Lio Rush Private Party, and Daniel Garcia run down to outnumber Moxley, Shafir, PAC, Castagnoli, and Yuta before brawling with them through the crowd.

Private Party remains in the ring, and The Young Bucks make their way down.

He lands a tombstone to Quen on the top of the ramp, opening the door for Matthew to powerbomb Kassidy into the corner and Nicholas to deliver an enzuigiri. Nicholas then delivers a hurricanrana as Matthew connects with a cutter, and The Bucks fire off alternating superkicks on Kassidy. Nicholas goes for a pin, but Matthew kicks out.

The Bucks set up for the EVP Trigger, but Kassidy falls over. The Bucks get him back up and look to land the BTE Trigger, but Kassidy avoids it and rolls up Matthew. After the match, Mone clocks Statlander from behind with the TBS Championship and demands that Kamille head to the back as she stands tall over Statlander.

Back from the break, we see The Bucks get into a car and leave the arena as Christopher Daniels chases after them and tells him that AEW needs them while Brandon Cutler chases after them with their shoes. Jon Moxley, Marina Shafir, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli then attack Daniels and injure Cutler's hand.
