AEW Rampage Results 8/2 - Wheeler Yuta Takes On The Butcher, MxM Collection Faces Private Party & More

Wheeler Yuta of Blackpool Combat Club will be going one-on-one with The Butcher. Both men will surely be extra motivated to score a win tonight after Yuta was dethroned as Ring of Honor Pure Championship by Lee Moriarty at Death Before Dishonor last Friday while The Butcher was unable to win the Royal Rampage and secure a shot at the AEW World Championship that same night on "Rampage".

Following their in-ring AEW debut this past Saturday on "Collision", MxM Collection will be returning to the ring as they square off with Private Party's Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen. Mason Madden and Mansoor were ultimately unable to emerge victorious over Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of FTR in their debut match.

After coming up short against Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship on the July 17 episode of "AEW Dynamite", Nyla Rose looks to redeem herself tonight as she collides with Harley Cameron. Cameron's most recent match came on "AEW Collision" on July 13 in which she was defeated by Skye Blue.

Additionally, Bryan Keith and Brian Cage will both be in singles action against two opponents who have yet to be announced. This will be Keith's first time competing in the ring since he came up short to Katsuyori Shibata and HOOK in a Triple Threat Number One Contenders match for the FTW Championship on the May 22 edition of "Dynamite". Meanwhile, Cage has competed in a handful of matches on both AEW and ROH programming throughout the month of July.

We are live! Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard greet audiences at home as Wheeler Yuta makes his way down to the ring. The Butcher is already waiting inside, and Bryan Danielson joins the commentary desk.

The bell rings and Butcher offers his hand to Yuta. Yuta opts not to shake it, and the two lock up. They take turns wearing one another down with submission holds and exchange strikes before Yuta wears down Butcher with a submission and rolls him up. Butcher kicks out and runs over Yuta with a shoulder tackle, but Yuta fires off strikes on him. Butcher then connects with a second shoulder tackle and delivers a splash to Yuta in the corner, then goes for a pin but Yuta kicks out.

Yuta fires off strikes on Butcher, but Butcher catches him with a back body drop and a stomp on his chest. Yuta then delivers a tope suicida to Butcher on the outside. The pair end up back inside the ring, and Butcher delivers a backbreaker to Yuta back inside the ring.

Back from the break, Butcher and Yuta teeter on the ropes. Yuta sends Butcher crashing off them and delivers a crossbody to him before he connects with a German suplex and stomps on his tricep. He locks in a submission hold, but Butcher escapes and lands a backbreaker. He follows it up with a powerbomb and goes for a pin, but Yuta kicks out.

Butcher rains down right hands on Yuta's spine, but Yuta bites his neck and fires off Hammer and Anvil elbows on him. He then locks in a submission hold on Butcher, and Butcher taps out.

Winner: Wheeler Yuta

Brian Cage then makes his way down to the ring. Manny Lo is already waiting inside.

The bell rings and Cage runs over Lo with a shoulder tackle. He charges at him, but Lo lands a kick on his arm. Cage responds with a belly-to-belly suplex and flexes his biceps, then delivers Weapon X for the win.

Winner: Brian Cage

Back from the break, we head over and see a backstage confrontation between Kyle Fletcher and Brian Cage.

Back at ringside, Nyla Rose makes her way out. Harley Cameron follows.

The bell rings and Cameron gets in Rose's face. Rose pushes Cameron away, but Cameron lands a couple of forearms on her. Rose stays standing, then connects with a shoulder block and a shoulder tackle. Rose looks to land a splash in the corner, but Cameron avoids it and delivers a scissor kick to her from the apron as Rose is draped through the middle rope.

Rose dumps Cameron out of the ring and delivers a dropkick to her under the bottom rope. Cameron then sends Rose crashing into the ring post and the barricade. Cameron and Rose get back inside the ring, and Cameron lands a kick on Rose's spine. She whips her into the corner and fires off a couple kicks on her, then jams her boot into her throat.

Back from the break, Cameron fires off knees on Rose's face. She fires off Hammer and Anvil elbows on her, but Rose intercepts one and catches Cameron with a backbreaker when Cameron goes for a Tornado DDT. She follows it up with a bodyslam and a leg drop, then connects with a slam and sets up for a cannonball. Cameron moves out of the way, then delivers a thrust kick and lands some offensive moves. Rose then connects with the Beast Bomb on Cameron for the win.

Winner: Nyla Rose

Bryan Keith, Chris Jericho, and Big Bill then make their way down to the ring. Jackson Drake is already waiting inside.

The bell rings and Keith takes a shot at Drake. He fires off right hands on his spine, then rakes his eyes and lands a right hand on him. Keith jams his boot into Drake's throat and continues to rake his eyes, then drags them across the top rope and sends him crashing into the top turnbuckle face first. He drapes Drake off the top rope and delivers a series of stomps to him before Bill rakes his eyes as Keith distracts the referee. Keith delivers a suplex to Drake and lands a boot on his face, then bites his cheek and delivers a Stunner out of the corner for the win.

Winner: Bryan Keith

MxM Collection then makes their way down to the ring. Private Party follows.

Mansoor and Kassidy begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. Mansoor delivers a shoulder tackle to Kasisdy and strikes a pose, but Kassidy connects with a single leg dropkick and strikes a pose of his own. Madden tags in and dumps Kassidy into the corner, then chases him back into the ring. Quen tags in and lands a dropkick on Madden, and Kassidy uses him as a launch pad to deliver a strike to Madden in the corner.

Back from the break, Quen tags in and fires off forearms on Mansoor. He connects with a shoulder tackle and a standing moonsault, then delivers a springboard moonsault and a pair of enzuigiris to an interfering Madden. Quen then delivers an enzuigiri to Mansoor and tags in Kassidy.

Private Party double teams on Mansoor and goes for a pin, but Madden breaks the fall. Private Party double teams on Madden, but Madden and Mansoor deliver a running kick-powerbomb combination to Kassidy. Mansoor goes for a pin, but Quen breaks the fall. Mansoor then lands a couple forearms on Kassidy, but Kassidy responds with a springboard DDT to him and a dropkick to Madden. He looks to land a tope suicida on Madden, but Madden catches him with a Sidewalk Slam.

Quen flies off the top rope to take down Madden, then gets Kassidy back in the rig and tags himself in. He delivers a bodysalm to Mansoor and ascends up the ropes, but Madden catches him. Mansoor lands a thrust kick on an interfering Kassidy before MxM Collection double team on Kassidy and send him crashing into the mat with their finisher for the win.
