WWE Raw Results 7/8 - Chad Gable Squares Off With Jey Uso, Mixed Tag Team Match & More

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results for "WWE Raw" on July 8, 2024, coming to you live from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada!

As he continues to be hunted down by the Wyatt Sicks, Chad Gable will have to find a way to put that aside tonight as he goes one-on-one with Jey Uso. The pair encountered one another this past Saturday at WWE Money In The Bank when they both competed in the Men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match, but ultimately both ended up being unable to unhook the briefcase.

Women's World Champion Liv Morgan will be teaming up with Dominik Mysterio of Judgment Day to take on LWO's Zelina Vega and Rey Mysterio in a Mixed Tag Team Match. The four competitors encountered one another last week when Dominik and Rey brawled during Morgan's title defense against Vega. Despite Dominik looking to help Vega dethrone Morgan, Morgan helped him win his match against Rey later that night.

Speaking of Judgment Day, JD McDonagh, Finn Balor, and Carlito will be squaring off with Awesome Truth and Braun Strowman. The six men are no strangers to one another, with Balor and McDonagh successfully challenging R-Truth and The Miz for the WWE World Tag Team Championship on the June 24 edition of "Raw" and Strowman having his sights on exacting his revenge against Judgment Day.

Three weeks ago on the June 17 episode of "Raw", Kayden Carter and Katana Chance defeated Kairi Sane and Dakota Kai after receiving some help from Lyra Valkyria. Tonight, Sane and Kai have their chance to seek their retribution as they join forces with their Damage CTRL teammate IYO SKY to take on Carter, Chance, and Valkyria.

The World Heavyweight Championship match at Money In The Bank between Damian Priest and Seth "Freakin" Rollins became a Triple Threat between them and Drew McIntyre when the latter man cashed in the Men's Money In The Bank briefcase he won earlier that night. The Triple Threat ended in controversial fashion when CM Punk became involved, ultimately taking McIntyre out of the equation and costing Rollins his title shot to ensure he would never be able to challenge Priest throughout the rest of his reign. While McIntyre may be currently suspended following these events, Priest and Rollins are both advertised to be in town tonight on WWE's event page along with GUNTHER.

We are live! The show kicks off with a video recapping the events of Money In The Bank on Saturday.

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee then greet audiences at home as CM Punk makes his way down to the ring.

We Hear From CM Punk

Punk says it's a great night to be in Ottawa, then says he has a lot to get off his chest. He thanks John Cena on his impending retirement from in-ring action, and says while he doesn't know what the future holds, he hopes to share the ring one more time with him. He then says Cena is here, but neither is Drew McIntyre due to his suspension. He throws it over to a video showing McIntyre hijacking the Money In The Bank post-show and attacking referees and Adam Pearce.

Punk says there are consequences to actions, and says this isn't the first time McIntyre messed things up. He says that he is the consequences to McIntyre's actions, and says McIntyre was unable to keep his promise to walk out of Money In The Bank as World Heavyweight Champion. Punk says he made a promise to keep that from happening, but unlike McIntyre, he kept his promise. He reveals he was fined $25,000 for what he did at Money In The Bank, but says McIntyre was fined $50,000. He demands Adam Pearce lift McIntyre's suspension so he can get his hands on him, no matter if it's a match, in the ring, in the parking lot, or in the crowd.

Seth "Freakin" Rollins' music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. He sees Punk sitting with Cole and McAfee at the announce desk, and says he wants to sit on the sidelines now. He invites Punk to get in the ring, and mocks him by asking if he's afraid that he's going to beat him. Punk slowly gets in the ring and reminds him of what happened the last time they were in the ring together. He tells Rollins to watch what he says next.

Rollins asks Punk why actions have consequences for everyone except for Punk himself. He asks Punk why he stuck his nose in his business, and Punk clarifies that he was handling his business rather than Rollins' business. He says he would think Rollins would understand as a husband and a father, and says that he will get his pound of flesh with McIntyre running around wearing his bracelet with his wife and dog's names on it. He apologizes to Rollins, but says that he can't be that sorry.

Rollins tells Punk that he always has an excuse, and says that he's simply gaslighting. He says Punk has never apologized for anything in his life, but he's the dumbest smart dude he's met in his entire life. He says he was willing to let Punk's selfishness slide until Saturday when he cost him the World Heavyweight Championship. He says that being World Heavyweight Champion is the most important thing to him in the wrestling business, then says that now it's time to take something from Punk like he did to him. He promises to keep Punk from taking his pound of flesh from McIntyre, then says when Punk is cleared, he won't be able to say "Drew McIntyre" before he puts him back on the shelf. He reminds Punk that actions have consequences, then heads to the back.

He says since Priest kept his word and didn't involve Judgment Day in their World Heavyweight Championship match on Saturday, and says that he'll keep his word and never challenge him for his title again. He tells Priest he has to be better at SummerSlam to defeat GUNTHER, and Priest tells Rollins that he'll let him challenge again. Rollins walks off, and Priest answers a call, asking the person on the other end where they're at.
