AEW Dynamite: Beach Break Results 7/3 - Garcia Challenges Ospreay For International Title, Britt Baker Appears
Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results for "AEW Dynamite": Beach Break on July 3, 2024, coming to you live from the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois!
After being unable to defeat Swerve Strickland to become the new AEW World Champion at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Will Ospreay will have to refocus his sights tonight as he puts his AEW International Championship on the line against Daniel Garcia. Ospreay granted Garcia a shot at his title in the opening segment of last Wednesday's edition of "Dynamite" as a deflated MJF stood by, who had looked to ask Garcia to be his opponent at AEW All In.
Mercedes Mone walked out of Forbidden Door dripping in gold after she dethroned Stephanie Vaquer as NJPW STRONG Women's Champion whilst successfully defending her TBS Championship in a Winner Take All Match. In the moments that followed the contest between the two women, Mone and AEW fans were both taken aback when Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. make her surprise return to warn Mone that she was coming after her. In light of both events, Baker will be appearing on tonight's show with something on her mind to share, and Mone will be hosting a celebration for her major victory.
The next competitors to advance in the Men's and Women's Owen Hart Cup Tournaments will be determined, as Jeff Jarrett faces a wild card opponent of The Elite's choosing in a quarterfinals match for the Men's Owen Hart Cup Tournament. A semifinals match is also set for tonight, as Blackpool Combat Club's Bryan Danielson takes on PAC after they defeated Shingo Takagi and Claudio Castagnoli in the quarterfinals respectively.
Meanwhile, in the Women's Owen Hart Cup Tournament, Willow Nightingale will be going head-to-head with Kris Statlander in a semifinals match. Not only did Nightingale and Statlander meet on the Zero Hour Pre-Show when they teamed with Tam Nakano and Momo Watanabe respectively, but tensions between them have been on the rise over the course of the last several weeks as the two share a storied history with one another.
We are live! The show kicks off with a conversation between Renee Paquette and Daniel Garcia about his International Championship match later tonight. MJF interrupts to wish Garcia the best in the match, and when Garcia looks to answer his All In challenge, MJF tells him to focus on that later.
Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone then greet audiences at home as Bryan Danielson makes his way down to the ring. PAC follows.

We Hear From Mark Briscoe
Mark says while they may call him a chicken, he's not scared of anything. He says Jack Perry got lucky last week when he emerged victorious in the Six Man Ladder Match at Forbidden Door to win the TNT Championship. He says he's no longer worried about last week, but he's worried about Shark Week and AEW Blood & Guts. He officially announces himself as the first member of Team AEW in the match.
Perry blindsides Mark and clocks him with the TNT Championship. Kyle O'Reilly lands a kick on Perry, but Kazuchika Okada appears and lands the Rainmaker on O'Reilly. The Young Bucks make their way down to the ring to join Okada and Perry, and deliver the EVP Trigger to Mark. Nightingale kicks out, and Statlander sends Nightingale crashing into the mat off her shoulders. Hathaway places a chain in the corner for Statlander to use, and she grabs it as Hathaway distracts Nightingale. Statlander looks to hit Nightingale with the chain from behind, but Nightingale sees her coming. Statlander almost hits Hathaway, but puts a stop to her own momentum. Nightingale takes advantage of the miscommunication and rolls up Statlander for the win.
Winner: Willow Nightingale
Back from the break, Tony Schiavone is waiting in the ring.
We Hear From Britt Baker
Schiavone introduces Baker, and she makes her way down to the ring. Baker tells AEW fans that she's missed them, and says while she was thinking about what she wanted to say in her first promo back, she decided just to talk to fans. She says she wants to talk about three things tonight: the past, the present, and the future.
Baker says that fans surely have been wondering where she's been for the last ten months. She says that she had a couple herniated discs and a torn hip labrum. She says she convinced herself she was good until she started feeling really sick one day. She says she looked to open a bottle of water, but she couldn't because her entire right side wouldn't work. She says she was diagnosed with a mini stroke, and says that she told Tony Khan she needed to stay at home for a while.
Baker says that in this present moment, she's cleared to return to action. She says she's never been more nervous than she was returning at Forbidden Door, and says she was worried no one would care if she walked through the curtain. She says that rejection is irrational, but it's persistent. She says fans welcomed her back with open arms, and says she will always be in their corner.
Baker says that when one is going through a hard time, be present and feel it all because it will feel even better once you get through it. She says everyone possesses the impulse to be Elite, then says there's a new Elite female face in AEW: Mercedes Mone. She says Mone worked hard to earn the three letters of CEO, and says it's brilliant to manipulate fans into cheering them by incorporating them into her entrance music. She says fans don't need music to tell Mone that the only three letters that matter in AEW are DMD.
We then see a car pull up to the Wintrust Arena, and Mercedes Mone gets out. She's greeted by The Young Bucks, and makes her way out to the ring as the ring gets set up for her TBS Championship/NJPW STRONG Women's Championship.
Mone tells Chicago it's time to celebrate with their double champion. Baker says she outshined her moment at Forbidden Door, and now Mone is trying to do the same thing to her. Mone says she made Forbidden Door famous when she became a double champion, and says she should've known that Baker would try to steal her moment. She tells Baker to get a good look at what a star looks like.
Baker says she wrestled at the very first All In in Chicago, and says she was the first woman to sign with AEW. She recalls wrestling at Wembley Stadium at All In last year while Mone was injured, then challenges Mone to a match at All In. Mone cuts her off and tells Baker to go to the back of the line, and Baker asks Mone what line she's referring to. Mone says since she's a fan, she knows she's about to say that there's a pierce to pay when you mess with Mone. The two women stare one another down as Mone holds up the TBS Championship and NJPW STRONG Women's Championship.
We then head backstage, and see Will Ospreay ask Don Callis to be out of The Don Callis Family as Kyle Fletcher stands by. Callus agrees to do Ospreay the favor, and says that he'll do him a favor one day.
Chris Jericho then makes his way down to the ring with a contract in hand and several security guards behind him.

He addresses HOOK using the Judas Effect to beat him at Forbidden Door, and calls out Taz for cheering on his son when he won during their Trios Match at the pay-per-view event. Jericho then says he got an executive order from Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson declaring that Taz must vacate the Wintrust Arena for the rest of the night. Bill takes the chair and cracks it across Joe's spine, and Jericho slides on a pair of brass knuckles. He hits HOOK with the brass knuckles, and Keith grabs a table from under the ring. Bill and Jericho set it up in the ring, and Bill chokeslams HOOK through the table.

Who Can Daniel Garcia Trust?
After Ospreay defeats Garcia, Ospreay whispers something to a disappointed Garcia. MJF joins Garcia in the ring, and MJF tells Garcia his loss was on him and not Garcia. MJF helps Garcia up and raises his hand, then hugs him before he low blows him. He puts on the "Dynamite" Diamond Ring and hits "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard with it when he tries to help out Garcia. He then hits Garcia with it and steps on his throat as Garcia begins to bleed. MJF clocks security with the "Dynamite" Diamond Ring when they run down, then rains down right hands on Garcia and sits him on the top turnbuckle. Officials run down to the ring to try and stop MJF, but MJF ignores them. He joins Garcia on the ropes and delivers a piledriver to him. Officials break the two apart, but MJF pulls them away and rains down more right hands on Garcia.
