WWE NXT Results 4/2 - Trick Williams & Carmelo Hayes Meet, Triple Threat #1 Contenders Match

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results for "WWE NXT" on April 2, 2024, coming to you live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida!

Just four days out from "NXT" Stand & Deliver, Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes will be meeting one another in the ring ahead of their main event match at the Premium Live Event. Tensions between the pair have been building up over the last several weeks, dating back to Hayes' betrayal of Williams after he unsuccessfully challenged Ilja Dragunov for the "NXT" Championship at "NXT" Vengeance Day in February.

"NXT" Tag Team Champions Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin will be finding out who their challengers will be at Stand & Deliver tonight when The OC's Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde of LWO, and Nathan Frazer and Axiom square off in a Triple Threat Number One Contenders match. LWO secured their spot in tonight's match after they defeated OTM on the March 12 episode of "NXT" while The OC and Nathan Frazer and Axiom beat Hank Walker and Tank Ledger and No Quarter Catch Crew respectively on March 19.

Lyra Valkyria will be defending her "NXT" Women's Championship in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania against Roxanne Perez. However, before she does, the two will come face-to-face tonight as Noam Dar hosts the two competitors on "The Supernova Sessions" ahead of his and Meta-Four's hosting duties at the PLE.

In April of last year, Blair Davenport anonymously attacked Sol Ruca and kept her out of action with an injury for a number of months. Ruca has been waiting to get her hands on Davenport since returning at "NXT" Roadblock last month, and tonight, she will have her chance to seek retribution as the two go one-on-one.

Lola Vice issued an open challenge last week to anyone who wanted to face her, to which "Raw" Superstar Natalya answered the call and ultimately emerged victorious after some encouragement from Karmen Petrovic. Tonight, Natalya will be returning the favor as she stands in Petrovic's corner while she takes on Vice. Elsewhere in the women's division, Jacy Jayne will be colliding with Fallon Henley after they came face-to-face in a post match brawl last week that also involved Thea Hail, Kelani Jordan, Jazmyn Nyx, and Kiana James.

Additionally, Lexis King will be taking on Von Wagner in a rematch from the February 27 edition of "NXT" as issues between the two of them and Wagner's associate Mr. Stone continue to rise. "NXT" North American Champion Oba Femi will also be in action as he faces Joe Gacy ahead of his title defense against Josh Briggs and Dijak on Saturday.

We are live! Vic Joseph and Booker T greet audiences at home as Axiom and Nathan Frazer make their way down to the ring. LWO and The OC follow.

Both women make their down to the ring, and Perez says she can't wait for Saturday because she'll get back the title she never lost. Valkyria tells Perez to stop and says she's sick of Perez saying the same thing over and over again. She says Perez is not the "NXT" Women's Champion because Indi Hartwell climbed a ladder faster than her. She reminds Perez of all the times she's been unable to regain the title thus far and says she attributes those losses to other people.

Perez tells Valkyria to stop talking like she knows her because she doesn't. She says she doesn't know what it's like to lose the "NXT" Women's Champion, but she will on Saturday and she'll be knocked off her high horse all the way down to the bottom. Perez says she's a whole new version of her, and says she didn't have it in her to snap at "NXT" Vengeance Day. She says she does now, and while Valkyria thinks losing the title broke her, it made her dangerous.

Valkyria stands up as she says Perez refers to the "NXT" Women's Championship as her title when there have been titleholders since then such as Tiffany Stratton and Becky Lynch. She says while she wins, all Perez does is b**** and she will have a whole lot more to b**** about after Stand & Deliver. Perez gets up to stare down Valkyria, and tells her that she has a whole year of rage built up in her. She says she'll let it all out at Stand & Deliver.

The pair begin brawling, leading to Valkyria sending Perez crashing through the coffee table on "The Supernova Sessions" set.

Back from the break, we head back over to Ilja Dragunov and Tony D'Angelo. Dragunov says he thinks the depths D'Angelo is willing to go are impressive, then says he was shocked by the location D'Angelo chose to invite him to. D'Angelo says the place they're in doesn't represent the end of him, but the end of his "NXT" Championship reign. He says if Dragunov thinks what he's done so far is impressive, then he has no idea what's in store for Saturday. Dragunov says nothing will stop him from being "NXT" Champion, and D'Angelo grabs his hand. He tells Dragunov that he could've taken him out at any point since he walked into the building and he could do it now, but he wants to wait until Saturday for the whole world to see. He tells Dragunov it's just business and nothing personal. Dragunov is then served a meal, and D'Angelo tells him to enjoy his last supper.

Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes Confront One Another In The Ring

Williams says him and Hayes are face-to-face, and they should be happy that they're main eventing the biggest show of the year. He says it wasn't supposed to be like this, and they built a bond so strong. He says they're the first two Black men to main event a "NXT" Premium Live Event ever, and while he wants to be excited about that, he's going to war against a man he used to call his brother.

Hayes says Williams has come a long way since Williams' dark match in Virginia (his third match ever). He says he was nervous and doubted if he belonged in the business, but Hayes was by his side. Hayes says it was them against the world at one point, but at Stand & Deliver, it's him against Williams. Williams says the world will be watching, and Hayes says the world will be watching the same way they did when Willaims ruined everything. Williams tells Hayes he has it backwards and he ruined everything, and Hayes says he ruined it because the hero is the one telling the story. He says if his "NXT" Championship and Williams' North American Championship they both lost were like girlfriends, Williams tried to take his girl (the "NXT" title) as he was trying to win her back. He says at the drop of the beat, Williams went from Hayes' dog to his enemy.

Williams says Hayes can tell his story how he wants, but that's not how things went down. He says he started blowing up and they both knew it, and he told Hayes he wanted to take a chance on himself. He reminds Hayes that he gave him his blessing, and Hayes tell Williams that he was paving the way for him the whole time. He says Williams wanted to believe the hype and started listening to fans tell him he was ready for a position that wasn't open and belongs to him. He says Williams will always take a backseat to him.

Williams says his days of taking a backseat are long gone, and Hayes asks Williams what happened to the humble person he once was. He says he's been hot for three years while Williams has been hot for six months, and says fans love them when they're shining but will Switch like Nintendo when the next guy comes around. Williams says he knows Hayes better than anyone and says he's envious of him, and Hayes says he doesn't care what they think. He says that he'll be the one in the ring with him at Stand & Deliver, and when he shoots, he don't miss. Williams says if Hayes hasn't learned by now, he'll learn by Saturday that he's the man now.

Hayes and Williams begin brawling with one another as officials and Hayes' security run down to separate them. Both Williams and Hayes fight them off and clear the ring, then continue brawling with one another. The locker room then runs down to separate the two men, but Hayes and Williams still continue brawling as the show goes off the air.
