WWE NXT Results 2/27 - Carmelo Hayes & Ilja Dragunov Meet In The Ring, Heritage Cup Match

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results for "WWE NXT" on February 27, 2024, coming to you live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida!

Over the past few weeks, "NXT" Champion Ilja Dragunov has called out Carmelo Hayes looking to exact his revenge on him for turning his back on Trick Williams at "NXT" Vengeance Day. Dragunov agreed to grant Hayes the title shot he's been after next Tuesday during "NXT" Roadblock, so long as he meets him in the ring prior. Tonight, such will be coming to fruition.

Meta-Four's Noam Dar will be putting his "NXT" Heritage Cup on the line for the first time since January 30 as he defends against one member of the No Quarter Catch Crew. Meta-Four and No Quarter Catch Crew have encountered one another several times backstage over the past few weeks.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson made their shocking return to "NXT" last week, blindsiding Chase U and Nathan Frazer and Axiom with an attack following their Number One Contenders "NXT" Tag Team Championship match. Tonight, they will be competing in their first match on the brand since October 18, 2022 as they collide with Edris Enofe and Malik Blade.

Lexis King will be returning to competition tonight as he goes one-on-one with Von Wagner. King faced Oba Femi for the North American Championship last week, but he found himself involved in a physical altercation with Wagner's associate Mr. Stone and was ultimately unsuccessful in dethroning Femi.

Additionally, "NXT" Women's Champion Lyra Valkyria has something in store for Tatum Paxley after the latter kept her promise to stay backstage while the former defended her title last week. Elsewhere in the women's division, Kiana James will be taking on Kelani Jordan, and Dijak faces Luca Crusifino.

We are live! Vic Joseph and Booker T greet audiences at home as Ilja Dragunov makes his way down to the ring.

lja Dragunov Calls Out Carmelo Hayes

Dragunov wastes no time and gets right to it. He says he's not in the mood to wait around all night for Carmelo Hayes, and says it's "NXT" Stand & Deliver season. He says what Hayes is looking for is on his shoulder, and calls him down to the ring.

Hayes' music hits, and he makes his way down to the ring. He says Dragunov is the "NXT" Champion for now, but he's not the star who makes the brand. He points out the line of security guards between him and Dragunov and says they're there to do what he needs. He says he won't step into the ring with Dragunov until he sees a contract and Ava makes things official, and says Dragunov's biggest fear is losing his title to him. He says Dragunov has until the end of the night to get everything together.

The security guards then go after Dragunov in the ring, but he fights them off and they surround Hayes.

Kelani Jordan then makes her way down to the ring. Kiana James and Izzi Dame follow.

The bell rings and the two lock up. They take turns locking one another in submission holds before Jordan delivers a hurricanrana that sends James crashing to the outside. She looks to fly, but Dame inserts herself between James and Jordan. Jordan then executes a springboard moonsault to level Dame and James.

Back from the break, Jordan and James level one another with crossbodies. Jordan lands a pair of back elbows and plants James, but James responds with a knee to Jordan's midsection and a spinebuster. Jordan rolls up James, but James kicks out and delivers a boot to Jordan's midsection. Jordan looks to fly from the apron, but Dame trips her while James distracts the referee and dumps her back in the ring. She then delivers a Dealbreaker for the win.

Winner: Kiana James

We then head over to a video of a confrontation turned brawl between Jakara Jackson and Roxanne Perez in the women's locker room from last week over Lash Legend answering the call for Lyra Valkyria's "NXT" Women's Championship Open Challenge.

Back at ringside, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson make their way out. Edris Enofe and Malik Blade follow.

Anderson and Blade begin the action. The bell rings and Anderson fires off stomps on Blade in the corner. Blade fires back with a dropkick and tags in Enofe. Enofe and Blade deliver a double drop toe hold and a double dropkick to Anderon, then deliver a second double dropkick to Gallows. Enofe delivers a dropkick, then tags in Blade. Blade and Enofe deliver a double shoulder tackle, and Blade connects with a senton. Gallows tags in and double teams with Anderson on Blade in the corner.

Gallows delivers an open plan strike and rains down hammer and anvil elbows on Blade. He fires off right and left hands on him in the corner and tags in Anderson. Blade rolls up Anderson, but Anderson kicks out. Enofe tags in and delivers a dropkick to Gallows on the apron, then levels Anderson with a clothesline and a Sling Blade. He follows it up with a vertical suplex before Gallows levels Blade in the corner.

Enofe ascends to the top and looks for a 450 Splash, but Anderson avoids it. He connects with a spinebuster, then tags in Gallows. Gallows and Anderson then deliver the Magic Killer for the win.

Winners: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderon

After the match, Andre Chase and Duke Hudson, and Nathan Frazer and Axiom all confront Gallows and Anderson following their attack last week. The two teams both demand to face Anderson and Gallows in a match. LWO then sneaks up on them and flies from the top rope. All four teams begin brawling with one another as Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin appear with their "NXT" Tag Team Championship in hand.

We then head backstage and see Oba Femi meet with Ava in her office. Ilja Dragunov marches in and stares down Femi. Femi leaves, and Dragunov tells Ava that they need to talk.

Roxanne Perez then makes her way down to the ring. Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend follow.

The bell rings and Perez wastes no time going after Jackson. She fires off right hands on her, but Jackson rolls out of the ring. Perez follows her and looks to get Jackson back in the ring, but Jackson prevents her from doing so with a kick. She then gets Perez back in the ring and delivers a dropkick, then fires off right and left hands on her midsection. Perez whips Jackson into the corner and delivers an uppercut, then flies off the ropes to level her.

Perez sets up for Pop Rox, but Legend hops up on the apron to save Jackson. The referee catches her and ejects her from ringside, and Jackson plants Perez back in the ring. She goes for a pin, but Perez kicks out. Jackson trips Perez and delivers a forearm, then locks in a spine submission. The pair then take turns slapping one another before Perez fires off right hands on Jackson and lands a dropkick. She kips up and delivers an uppercut in the corner, then follows it up with a Side Russian Leg Sweep and locks in a crossface. Jackson taps.

Winner: Roxanne Perez

We then head backstage and see Thea Hail vent about her relationship issues with Riley Osborne to Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx.

Back at ringside, Dijak then makes his way down to the ring.

Back from the break, we see Luke Gallows and Karl Anderon warn Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin that they're coming for the "NXT" Tag Team Championship. Luca Crusifino follows. 

Back at ringside, Luca Crusifino makes his way down to the ring. 

Dijak vs. Luca Crusifino

The bell rings and the two lock up. Dijak delivers a knee to Crusifino's midsection, but Crusifino responds with several strikes and clotheslines Dijak out of the ring. He follows it up with a dropkick through the bottom rope and the pair return to the ring. Dijak connects with a back elbow on Crusifino and looks to fly, but Crusifino catches him with an uppercut mid-air and follows it up with a senton. Dijak connects with a series of overhand chops in the corner, then delivers a boot to his jaw and looks to plant him. Crusifino escapes and looks to plant Dijak, but Dijak levels him with a clothesline. Crusifino connects with a back suplex and a clothesline in the corner, but Dijak levels him with a boot and follows it up with Feast Your Eyes for the win.

After the match, Joe Gacy appears at ringside having broken free from his straitjacket. Crusifino uses Dijak's nightclub to send him crashing out of the ring towards Gacy, and Gacy brawls with Dijak to the back. Crusifino then hides the nightclub behind the ring steps.

We then head backstage and see The Family watching what just happened from backstage. Tony D'Angelo tells Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo to "go get them".

Back from the break, Lyra Valkyria makes her way down to the ring.

Lyra Valkyria Has A Gift For Tatum Paxley

Valkyria wishes Shotzi a speedy recovery and promises her a shot at the "NXT" Women's Championship when she returns. She commends Lash Legend on her performance in their title match last week, then calls Tatum Paxley down to the ring to give her a gift for keeping her promise to stay backstage during said matches,

Tatum Paxley's music hits and she makes her way down to the ring through the crowd. Paxley tells Valkyria it's good to see her, and says last week was hard. She says her sweet dove was in danger of losing her title, and Valkyria says she didn't before she thanks her for keeping her promise. Paxley says she would do anything for Valkyria, and says she's proven her devotion. Valkyria tells her to take it down a notch, and Paxley says she's a woman of her word. She then says she spoke to Ava, and they'll be teaming together next week at Roadblock to face The Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. Paxley then expresses her excitement. 

Ridge Holland's Apology Gets Inturrupted

Paxley and Valkyria get interrupted by Ridge Holland. Holland wishes Valkyria and Paxley the best of luck in their title match next week, but asks them to leave as he has something to say. Holland says he is a man of action, but his actions got him in this predicament. He says he sometimes takes things too far when he looks for retaliation, and apologizes for his actions. He says there was no malicious intent. The lights then go out, and a message appears on the Titan Tron: "Truth will ultimately prevail, but there is pain bringing it to light."

One comes back on, and Holland is clocked from behind with a chair by a hooded figure. When they come back on, the figure takes off their hood to reveal themselves to be...Shawn Spears!

Lexis King then makes his way down to the ring. Von Wagner and Mr. Stone follow.

Lexis King vs. Von Wagner (w/ Mr. Stone)

The bell rings and the two lock up. Wagner levels King with a shoulder tackle and a delayed vertical suplex, but King responds with a Dragon Screw to Wagner and sends his knee bouncing off the ring apron and ring post. He continues wearing down his knee by sending it crashing into the mat, but Wagner delivers a boot to his midsection and clotheslines him out of the ring before he follows him out there. King sends Wagner crashing into the barricade and into Stone, and the pair get back inside to the ring. He delivers a clothesline to the back of his neck, and Stone hops up on the apron. Wagner then rolls him up for the win.

After the match, King continues to target Wagner's knee. Stone tries providing Wagner with a helping hand, but King overpowers him and delivers The Coronation.

Gigi Dolin then makes her way down to the ring. 

Back from the break, we see Joe Gacy film an argument between Dijak and Ava. Gacy approaches Dijak and attacks him. 

Back at ringside, Jaida Parker makes her way out to the ring.

The bell rings and the two lock up. Parker sends Dolin crashing into the mat face first, but Dolin trips her. Parker delivers a knee to Dolin's midsection, but Dolin hits a dropkick. Parker sends Dolin crashing into the middle turnbuckle, but Dolin responds with a few forearms. Parker delivers another knee to her midsection and drapes her across the middle turnbuckle, then delivers a modified senton and goes for a pin. Dolin kicks out and rolls up Parker, but Parker kicks out.

Parker delivers a Blockbuster to Dolin, then locks in a shoulder submission on her. Dolin delivers a boot to Parker's jaw, then connects with a series of forearms as a distressed Arianna Grace makes her way down to the ring, having gotten into a heated confrontation with Parker in the locker room earlier tonight. Dolin fires off kicks on Parker's head, then looks to clock Parker. Grace catches her hand, and Dolin delivers a headbutt to her. This opens the door for Parker to deliver a sliding right hand to Dolin's head for the win.

Winner: Jaida Parker

After the match, Grace tells Dolin that they need to come together as she looks for her forgiveness.

Back from the break, we see the message "See you soon" written on a beach, with the logo for Roadblock appearing right after.

Vic Joseph and Booker T then announce that Ava had made an Asylum Match between Joe Gacy and Dijak official for next week at Roadblock.

Back at ringside, No Quarter Catch Crew makes their way down to the ring. Noam Dar and Oro Mensah follow.

The bell rings and the two lock up. Dar delivers a kick to Dempsey's head, then follows it up with a couple of knees to his midsection and rolls up Dempsey. Dempsey kicks out and executes a backslide, then bridges into a pinfall on Dar to take home the round.

Round One: Dar 0-1 Dempsey

Round two kicks off, and Dempsey delivers an uppercut to Dar. in the corner He follows it up with a gut wrench suplex.

Back from the break, Dempsey delivers a suplex and the pair exchange strikes as round two comes to a close.

Round Two: Dar 0-1 Dempsey

Dar and Dempsey continue exchanging strikes as round three begins, and Dempey looks to execute another backslide. Dar prevents him from doing so and locks in a Sleeper, but Dempsey escapes and begins wearing down Dar's arm. Dar fires off right hands on Dempsey's spine and locks in a Triangle. Dempsey then manages to cinch in an Ankle Lock, but Dar escapes. Dempsey then delivers a double underhook suplex and fires off a couple elbows on the side of Dar's head. Dar rolls him up, but Dempsey kicks out. Dar then locks in an Arm Bar, but Dempsey makes his way over to the bottom rope to break the hold. Dempsey then delivers a German suplex, and Dar rocks Dempsey with a strike as the round comes to an end.

Round Three: Dar 0-1 Dempsey

Round four kicks off, and Dar wastes no time. He goes straight after Dempsey and delivers a suplex, then follows it up with an elbow and a kick to his head. He then executes the Nova Roller on Dempsey for the win.

Round Four: Dar 1-1 Dempsey

Round five begins, and Dar flies off the middle rope to level Dempsey. He delivers a few knees to Dempsey's midsection before Myles Borne hops up on the apron. Mensah pulls him off, but Borne sends him crashing into the ring post. Dar delivers a back elbow inside the ring, then levels an interfering Kemp and Gulak. Dempsey takes advantage and lands a Half Nelson suplex for the win.

Round Five: Dar 1-2 Dempsey

Winner (and new): Charlie Dempsey

Back from the break, we see Shawn Spears explain that he struck Ridge Holland for not being truthful. He then announces that he'll be at Roadblock next week.

Back at ringside, Ilja Dragunov is waiting inside the ring. Carmelo Hayes and his security guards then make their way down, and Ava is sitting as a table set up in the ring with a contract in hand.

Carmelo Hayes Signs A Contract

Security surrounds the ring as Hayes explains that this is more of what he pictured. He says his security is solely at ringside to protect him, and says the "NXT" Championship is coming back to him at Roadblock next week. Dragunov says they've been around each other for the last eight months or so, and says he now realizes that Hayes will do anything and step over anyone to get his title back. Hayes says that crazy coming from Dragunov after telling him that he would take his soul from him last week, and says the only difference between them is that he's colder than Dragunov.

Tony D'Angelo then makes his way down to the ring, and says he needs to be included in the conversation about big business. Hayes warns D'Angelo that he'll send his security after him if he says another word, and says Hayes isn't the only one who can make things move around in "NXT". Security then hops off the apron and heads to the back, and takes Ava's seat. He says he can't be the only one to see that Hayes and Dragunov have dominated the "NXT" Championship picture, and only one man can flip that on its head. He says D'Angelo has had a year to talk about the "NXT" Championship, and says while Dragunov dresses like a champion, his intent is a little dramatic. He says he's here to tell Dragunov he wants to take Dragunov's title away from him, and says he's earned everything he has while those who have crossed him got what they deserved. He says he'll earn a title match with Dragunov at Stand & Deliver, and Dragunov says his interest is piqued. He announces that Ava has agreed to make a Number One Contenders match for the "NXT" Championship between him and Hayes to determine who will face Dragunov at Stand & Deliver.

Ava tells Dragunov that the decision is ultimately his to make as to whether or not he agrees, and the only thing that will be left is for Hayes to put pen to paper on the contract she's drafted. Dragunov says he would like to see Hayes earn something for the first time in his life, and agrees to D'Angelo's proposal. He tells D'Angelo to Whoop That Melo next week.

Hayes voices his objections, but then tells D'Angelo that he can't beat him. Hayes says if they need someone to take out the trash, D'Angelo is the man, but he is "The Don" when it comes to the "NXT" Championship. D'Angelo gets out of his seat and makes his way over to where Hayes is standing, but Hayes sends him crashing into Dragunov. He then sends D'Angelo crashing through the announce desk and calls for Ava to hand him the contract. He signs it, then picks up the "NXT" Championship and tosses it on top of Dragunov. He then stands tall as the show goes off the air.
