AEW Rampage Results 9/15 - TBS Championship On The Line, Huge Eight Man Tag Team Match

After successfully retaining her title against Robyn Renegade this past Saturday on "AEW Collision", Kris Statlander will be putting the TBS Championship on the line against Jade Cargill in a rematch. Statlander beat Cargill to become the titleholder at AEW Double or Nothing back in May, ending her undefeated streak in the process.
Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal will both be returning to action tonight as they join forces to take on The Kingdom. Daniels and Sydal last competed in an AEW ring on the July 28 episode of "Rampage", ultimately coming up short to Brian Cage and Big Bill in a Number One Contenders Battle Royal for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
AEW World Trios Champions The Acclaimed and "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn look to score a win tonight as they square off with "Pretty" Peter Avalon and The Outrunners in a non-title match. Anthony Bowens, Max Caster, and Gunn dethroned The House of Black at AEW All In, and most recently defended their title against the aforementioned Lethal, Jarrett, and Satnam Singh at All Out.
A huge eight man tag team match is set for tonight, as The Lucha Brothers and The Hardys join forces to take on Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, The Butcher, and The Blade. Additionally, Aussie Open will be in action. Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis most recently came up short to Le Sex Gods on the September 6 episode of "AEW Dynamite".
We are live! Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Chris Jericho greet audiences at home as The Lucha Brothers, The Hardys, Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, The Butcher, and The Blade are waiting in the ring.
The Lucha Brothers and The Hardys (w/ Brother Zay and Alex Abrahantes) vs. Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, The Butcher, and The Blade (w/ Sonjay Dutt, Karen Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Kip Sabian, and Penelope Ford)
Jarrett and Penta begin the action. The bell rings and Jarrett takes a shot at Penta. Penta responds with a superkick before Lethal and Fenix tag in. The Lucha Brothers deliver a double team to the now legal Butcher, and Jeff tags in. Jeff wears Butcher down, then tags Matt in. Butcher delivers a suplex to Matt and tags Lethal back in. Lethal sends Jeff into the top turnbuckle face first and tags Penta back in. Sabian and Dutt wear down Matt while the referee has his back turned before Jarrett tags back in and delivers a Russian Leg Sweep. Blade becomes legal and lands a chop, then follows it up with a pair of right hands.
Back from the break, Matt makes the hot tag to Fenix and delivers a kick to his jaw. He follows it up with a cutter and everyone is sent crashing to the outside. Abrahantes looks to fly, and Sabian and Dutt try stopping him. Abrahantes fights them off and launches off the top rope, but Singh catches him. The Lucha Brothers then work together and take him out.
Fenix and the now legal Blade return back into the ring, and Fenix delivers the Fenix Driver for the win.

After the match, The Righteous appear and stand tall over The Hardys.
Back from the break, Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal head down to the ring. The Kingdom follows.

Daniels and Bennett begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. Bennett lands a forearm and a shoulder tackle, then delivers a chop. Daniels fires back with a pair of arm drags and a drop toe hold, then tags in Daniels. Daniels delivers a bodyslam before Sydal bodyslams him on top of Bennett. Taven tags in and shoves Sydal, but Sydal fires back with a kick to his leg and tags Daniels back in. Sydal lands a couple of kicks and Daniels follows it up with a sliding clothesline. Daniels then catches an interfering Bennett with a Manhattan Drop and lands a right hand on Taven before Taven sends him onto the apron and lands a kick on his head. Bennett delivers an elbow to him on the outside and dumps him back in the ring. Taven goes for a pin, but Daniels kicks out.
Back from the break, Daniels tags in and double teams on Taven with Sydal. Bennett levels Sydal with a Death Valley Driver and exchanges chops with Daniels. Daniel whips him into the corner, but Bennett ducks out of the way and Taven lands a splash. The Kingdom then delivers a Backpack-running kick combination for the win.

After the match, Taven says that he and Bennett need to get back to Roderick Strong in the hospital, where he is suffering from a neck injury. He blames Cole for what happened this past Wednesday on "Dynamite", then challenges him and MJF to a match for a ROH World Tag Team Championship match. Bennett says it's neck health awareness month and he'll show the two of them what happens to someone who doesn't care about it.

Gunn and Floyd begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up.Floyd lands a back elbow and delivers a pair of kicks to Gunn's thigh. Avalon tags in and delivers a chop block to Gunn. Gunn fires back with a back elbow and tags in Bowens. Bowens delivers a clothesline and a pair of open hand strikes. Avalon catches him with a dropkick, but Bowens fires back with a superkick and a kick to his midsection. He follows it up with a Famouser. Caster tags in, and Gunn delivers a bodyslam to Avalon and Bowens follows it up with Scissor Me Timbers. Gunn lands a Famouser, and Caster hits The Mic Drop for the win.

After the match, The Acclaimed and Gunn look to scissor, but Dark Order appears on the ramp and John Silver says the three of them are mean, pathetic liars. He demands a shot at the AEW World Trios Championship. Bowens asks why they deserve a shot, and Evil Uno says they have climbed their way up from the bottom. He says they're tired of bad things happening to good people, and they are bad people. He says Dark Order deserves their opportunities, then suggests that one of them faces one of them to prove they're worth it. Bowens asks which of them should be the one to step up, and Gunn says they should play Rock, Paper, Scissors. The Acclaimed and Gunn play, and all three of them keep choosing scissors. Alex Reynolds tells them to stop, and Bowens steps up to face any one of them.
Back from the break, Aussie Open heads down to the ring. Lord Crewe and Damian Chambers are already waiting inside.

The bell rings and Aussie Open go right after Crewe and Chambers. They send the pair crashing into the corner before Fletcher becomes legal and Aussie Open hit both men with a double clothesline. Fletcher and Davis then deliver a Coriolis each to Chambers and Crewe for the win.
Winners: Aussie Open
Jade Cargill and "Smart" Mark Sterling then head down to the ring. Kris Statlander follows.
Kris Statlander (c) vs. Jade Cargill (w/ Mark Sterling) for the TBS Championship
The bell rings and the two lock up. The pair try leveling one another with lariats, but both stay standing. Cargill then delivers a knee to Statlander's midsection, but Statlander delivers a bodyslam and dumps Cargill out of the ring. Cargill pulls Statlander out to join her, but Statlander fights her off and looks for a crossbody off the apron. Cargill catches her and plants her on the apron, then sends her crashing into it face first and follows it up with an uppercut. Statlander fires back with a chop and tosses her into the barricade before getting her back inside the ring and delivering a pair of knees to her arm.
Cargill whips Statlander into the corner and stomps on her repeatedly, then delivers an uppercut and a running back elbow. Statlander lands a forearm before the pair takes turns trying to suplex one another. Cargill eventually overpowers Statlander and plants her with a delayed vertical suplex, and the two go back and forth firing off forearms on one another. Statlander lands an uppercut and a knee to Cargill, then sets up for Friday Night Fever Cargill evades the move, and Statlander drags her into the corner. Sterling hops up on the apron, and Statlander gets in his face. Cargill looks to blindside Statlander, but Statlander ducks out of the way and Cargill almost hits Sterling. Statlander then takes a shot at him.
Cargill looks for Jaded, but Statlander rolls her up. Jade kicks out and delivers a chokeslam, but Statlander delivers a scissor kick and Friday Night Fever for the win.
Winner (and still): Kris Statlander
After the match, Cargill and Statlander shake hands. The pair then hug, and Cargill raises Statlander's hand.
