AEW Rampage Results (01/27) - Hangman Page Vs. Wheeler Yuta, Women's World Title Eliminator Match, Trios Match, And More

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results of "AEW Rampage" on January 27, 2023, coming to you from the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky!

Before he faces Jon Moxley on "Dynamite" this upcoming Wednesday, "Hangman" Adam Page will be in action tonight when he goes one-on-one with Moxley's fellow BCC teammate and current Ring of Honor Pure Champion, Wheeler Yuta. Page and Moxley competed against one another in the squared circle two weeks ago, during which Page ultimately came out on top. Prior to that, they faced one another on the October 18 episode of "Dynamite" in an AEW World Championship match.

Best Friends (Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor) will be joining forces with Danhausen to take on Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, and Satnam Singh. Several participants in the match came face-to-face with one another on the January 18 edition of "Dynamite" after Jarrett, Singh and Best Friends got into an altercation with one another following Lethal's match with Orange Cassidy for the TNT Championship.

AEW Women's World Champion Jamie Hayter will be squaring off with Emi Sakura in an Eliminator Match. If Sakura wins, she will earn herself a future title match with Hayter. Sakura and Hayter have previously teamed up with one another a couple of times in an AEW ring, defeating Riho and Shanna on "Dynamite" in 2019, but losing to Thunder Rosa, Kris Statlander, and Ryo Mizunami in 2021 on "Dark".

Last but not least, Powerhouse Hobbs will be in action against an unspecified opponent. Hobbs hastily beat Jaiden on the January 17 episode of "Dark".

We are live! Jim Ross, Taz, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Chris Jericho greet audiences at home as "Hangman" Adam Page and Wheeler Yuta are waiting in the ring.

The bell rings and Yuta wastes no time. He delivers a dropkick, then fires off several forearms. Page hits a chop, but Yuta manages to lock in an Abdominal Stretch. Page escapes and Yuta goes straight to work on his knee. The two men go back and forth with right hands before Yuta whips Page into the corner and delivers a series of chops and forearms. Page clocks Yuta from behind, then delivers a chop. Yuta fires off a few forearms, but Page sends him to the mat and delivers a sliding lariat. He follows it up with a right hand, but Yuta tosses him onto the apron and sends his face bouncing off the top rope. Page gets back in the ring, then delivers a lariat that sends Yuta to the outside. He follows it up with a crossbody over the top, then tosses Yuta back inside. Yuta delivers a tope suicida, then hits several chops before Page powerbombs him into the apron and tosses him into the ring. He delivers a second powerbomb, then goes for a pin. Yuta kicks out.

Back from the break, Yuta delivers a dropkick to Page. He follows it up with an enziguri, then ascends to the top and delivers a back elbow. Page gets Yuta up on his shoulders, then sends him crashing into the mat. Page delivers a suplex to Yuta before Yuta delivers three of his own. Page hits a back elbow, then delivers a boot to Yuta's face. The two men end up on the apron, and Yuta delivers a German suplex. He delivers a second one on the floor, then climbs to the top rope and delivers a crossbody. He gets Page in the ring, then delivers a crossbody. Page fires back with a lariat, then sets up for the Buckshot Lariat. Yuta prevents him from hitting it, then fires off several elbow strikes. Page gets Yuta up on his shoulders, but Yuta delivers a big boot. Page lands a right hand, then follows it up with the Buckshot Lariat. He then delivers a double underhook suplex for the win.

We then head to a video from Action Andretti and Ricky Starks addressing Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara following their loss on "Dynamite". Starks says he's already beat Jericho once, and he can do it again.

Back from the break, we head backstage to Eddie Kingston. He says he's done trying and is quitting, then says House of Black has to accept him. He says he's ready to go home.

Back at ringside, Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, and Sonjay Dutt head down, followed by Danhausen, Orange Cassidy, and Best Friends.

Lethal and Taylor begin the action. The bell rings and Lethal wastes no time. He begins to beat down Taylor, but Taylor eventually gets the better of him. Beretta and Jarrett tag in. The two trade right hands before Beretta executes a back elbow and tags Taylor back in. Taylor whips Jarrett into the corner, then tags in Danhausen. Danhausen beats down Jarrett before Jarrett rolls to the outside. Best Friends and Danhausen look to hug, but Singh, Lethal, and Jarrett pull them down. Singh and Beretta tag in. Beretta looks to deliver chops to Singh, but Singh no-sells them and whips him to the outside. Jarrett tags back in.

Back from the break, Beretta rolls up Lethal. Lethal kicks out and delivers a suplex to Beretta before Taylor tags in and locks in a submission. Jarrett breaks things up, then tags in and whips Beretta into the corner. Beretta sends Lethal to the outside, then locks in the Figure Four Leg Lock on Jarrett. Singh tags in and sends Taylor into the corner. Danhausen tags himself in and fires off a series of right hands and chops. Singh no-sells them, then catches Danhausen and whips him into the corner. Danhausen grabs Jarrett's guitar, but the referee catches him and he gives it up. Jarrett takes advantage of the distraction, and hits Danhausen with Paul Walter Hauser's stolen Golden Globe. Singh then pins him for the win.

We head backstage to Renee Paquette and Ruby Soho. Britt Baker walks in and Soho makes it clear she doesn't want anything to do with her. Baker says that maybe she means more to the women's division than she thought, then tells her to choose a side.

Back at ringside, Powerhouse Hobbs heads to the ring as Tony Mudd already waits inside.

The bell rings and Hobbs delivers a clothesline. He delivers an elbow and a splash, then hits a lariat in the corner. He whips Mudd across the ring, then gets him up on his shoulders and sends him crashing into the mat for the win.

We then head to a video of Top Flight challenging The Elite for the AEW World Trios Championship.

We head backstage to Dustin Rhodes and Renee Paquette. Rhodes thanks fans for their support during this difficult time in his life. Mogul Affiliates walk in and Swerve Strickland says he has no sympathy for Rhodes. He makes some snide remarks about his family, and Rhodes gets in his face. The two men stare one another down. 

Back from the break, Emi Sakura, Mei Suruga, and Baliyan Akki head to the ring, followed by Jamie Hayter, Britt Baker, and Rebel.

The bell rings and the two lock up. Hayter sends Sakura to the mat, but Sakura fires back with a chop. The two women spill to the outside before Sakura whips Hayter between the apron and the barricade. She delivers a chop and a running crossbody, then delivers another chop and tosses her back into the ring. Sakura whips Hayter across the ring, then delivers some more chops and a running crossbody. Hayter fires off several right hands, but Sakura delivers an elbow drop and locks in the Surfboard.

Back from the break, Sakura delivers a series of chops to Hayter. Hayter fires back with a trio of Exploders, then delivers a running back elbow and a lariat in the corner. She rains down right hands, then plants her. Sakura delivers a chop, then hits a Butterfly Backbreaker and goes for a pin but Hayter kicks out. Hayter looks for a sliding back elbow, but Sakura ducks it and rolls up Hayter. Hayter kicks out, then delivers a sliding lariat. She goes for a pin, but Sakura kicks out. Hayter ascends to the top and looks for a moonsault, but Sakura gets her knees up. She follows it up with the Tiger Driver, then goes for a pin. Hayter kicks out and Sakura ascends to the top rope. She executes a moonsault, then goes for another pin but Hayter kicks out. Hayter hits a lariat, but Sakura drives Hayter into the mat. Hayter manages to deliver a lariat, then hits the Hayterade for the win.
