AEW Rampage: New Year's Smash Results (12/30) - All-Atlantic Title Match, TBS Championship Match, Swerve Strickland Vs. Wheeler Yuta And More

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results of "AEW Rampage" on December 30, 2022, coming to you from the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado!

Orange Cassidy will be defending his All-Atlantic Championship against longtime best friend, Trent Beretta. Kip Sabian approached "Freshly Squeezed" this past Wednesday to request a title shot due to the fact that he eliminated him last week from the 300,000 Dollar Three Kings Christmas Casino Trios Battle Royale. However, he was quickly reminded that Beretta eliminated him from the match straight afterwards and Cassidy used his logic against him to grant Beretta the opportunity instead. What will happen when the two allies collide?

The TBS Championship will also be on the line, as undefeated titleholder Jade Cargill goes head-to-head with former Baddie Kiera Hogan. Cargill booted Hogan from The Baddies at the end of last month after being unhappy with her performance as part of the group. Will Hogan become the first person to beat Cargill and etch her name in the history books, or will Cargill become 46-0?

Former AEW World Tag Team Champion Swerve Strickland will be squaring off with Ring of Honor Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta after Yuta threw out the challenge on "Dynamite". Swerve made waves after betraying former tag team partner Keith Lee at "Dynamite: Holiday Bash" and aligning himself with Mogul Associates (Parker Boudreaux and Granden Goetzman). Which man will come out on top?

Additionally, fans will be hearing from AEW Women's World Champion Jamie Hayter, former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, Darby Allin and Sting.

We are live! Excalibur, Paul Wight, Kip Sabian, and Tony Schiavone greet audiences at home as Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta wait in the ring, with Danhausen and Chuck Taylor at ringside.

Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Trent Beretta for the All-Atlantic Championship

The bell rings and the two shake hands. They lock up and exchange submissions before Beretta delivers a pair of arm drags and Cassidy fires back with a shoulder tackle. Beretta dumps Cassidy to the outside and tosses him into the barricades. Taylor helps Cassidy up and he gets back in the ring. Beretta offers Cassidy a hug.

Back from the break, Cassidy delivers his signature kicks. Beretta delivers a clothesline and a suplex before Cassidy hits a Michinoku Driver. Cassidy sets up for Orange Punch, but Beretta counters it into a back elbow. Cassidy delivers a Tornado DDT, then ascends to the rope and goes flying. Penelope Ford then saunters down to ringside and distracts Beretta, allowing Cassidy to hit Beach Break for the win.

Winner (and still): Orange Cassidy

Back from the break, Beretta walks to the back in frustration as Kip Sabian heads down.

We then head to a video of Sting, Darby Allin, and Tony Schiavone after the events of last Wednesday. He asks Allin for his reaction to his match on next week's "Dynamite" and Allin says he's happy it will be in his hometown. He says everyone doubted him and he listened to them, letting their words get into his head. He says he thinks people still don't believe in him, including Sting, and Sting reassures him that's not the case.

Kip Sabian Dominates His Opponent

The bell rings and Sabian delivers a headbutt. He delivers a step-up enziguri, followed by a cannonball. He ascends to the top rope and delivers the double stomp, then follows it up with the Orange Punch (as a means to get into Cassidy's head) for the win.

Winner: Kip Sabian

Jon Moxley heads to the ring and meets Tony Schiavone inside. He says there were two men who stood above the rest that never met in the ring: him and "Hangman" Adam Page. He says there will only be one last man standing and he hit Hangman so hard when he concussed him, he knocked him into another dimension and made him weep like a baby. He says Blackpool Combat Club works harder than everyone else and they don't care about the safety of others. He tells Hangman to see his doctors because he'll be waiting for him.

Kiera Hogan heads to the ring, followed by Jade Cargill and The Baddies.

Jade Cargill (c) vs. Kiera Hogan for the TBS Championship

The bell rings and the two lock up. Hogan rolls up Cargill, but Cargill kicks out. Cargill delivers a chokeslam and the two women spill to the outside. Cargill tosses Hogan into the apron and the barricade.

Back from the break, Cargill gets Hogan up on her shoulders. Hogan escapes and Cargill delivers a vicious right hand. The two women spill to the outside, and Leila Grey holds Hogan in place as Cargill goes to slap her. Red Velvet prevents her from doing so and catches her hand to save Hogan. Hogan gets Cargill back in the ring and delivers a bulldog, followed by a roundhouse kick to her head and the running dropkick. Hogan ascends to the top and delivers a crossbody. He goes for a pin, but Cargill kicks out. Cargill then manages to hit Jaded for the win.

Winner (and still): Jade Cargill

We then head to a video of Jamie Hayter addressing Hikaru Shida and Saraya.

We then head backstage to Varsity Athletes. Tony Nese announces he has a match against Bryan Danielson next week.

Swerve Strickland and Mogul Affiliates head to the ring, followed by Wheeler Yuta.

Swerve Strickland (w/ Mogul Affiliates) vs. Wheeler Yuta

The bell rings and the two lock up. Swerve looks for an arm drag, but Yuta blocks it. Yuta delivers a senton, then locks in the Bow and Arrow. Swerve escapes by rolling him up, but Yuta kicks out. Swerve delivers a chop before Yuta tosses him to the outside and delivers a tope suicida. Mogul Associates get in Yuta's face, allowing Swerve to deliver a superkick and a suplex.

Back from the break, Swerve plants Yuta. He follows it up with a pair of forearms and a snapmare, followed by a brainbuster. He delivers a pair of right hands before Yuta rolls up Swerve. Swerve reverses the fall and Yuta kicks out. Yuta plants Swerve with a slam, but Swerve delivers a knee and fires off several right hands. He delivers a dropkick to Yuta's knee, then ascends to the top. Yuta hits an enziguri, then meets Swerve at the top and delivers a superplex. He fires off some Hammer and Anvil Elbows before Swerve fires back with a kick to Yuta's head. Swerve low-blows Yuta while the referee isn't looking, then delivers the JML Driver for the win.

Winner: Swerve Strickland
