WWE Raw Results (09/26) - Johnny Gargano And Kevin Owens Vs. Alpha Academy, Matt Riddle Vs. Damian Priest, Bianca Belair Vs. IYO SKY

Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens will be teaming up to take on Alpha Academy. Gargano helped Owens to defeat Austin Theory last week after coming to the ring and causing a distraction. Alpha Academy then became irate after Gargano caused their 'close, personal friend' the match and sought to seek their revenge on Theory's behalf.
Matt Riddle looks to score a win over Judgment Day's Damian Priest while his arch rival Seth "Freakin" Rollins will face Rey Mysterio. Riddle teamed up with Rey Mysterio last week to take on Priest and leader Finn Balor, but lost after Rollins interfered and cost them the bout. Riddle and Rollins have been involved in an increasingly bitter feud over the past several months and will face off in a Fight Pit Match at the upcoming Extreme Rules premium live event.
AJ Styles will be facing Sami Zayn after the pair had a fiery exchange over Twitter that began after Styles posted a picture of Zayn holding up the newest Bloodline shirt and said "people will do anything for a T-shirt these days." Zayn responded by saying that he was "gifted" the shirt and by disrespecting the shirt, he was disrespecting the Bloodline. He added that he "might just come to Raw on Monday to sort this out" and said he "[doesn't] travel alone." Styles then accepted his challenge, telling him to "bring the kid" and "his dumb gift shirt."
"Raw" Women's Champion Bianca Belair will square off with Damage CTRL's IYO SKY in single's action. Belair has been at odds with Damage CTRL since their return at Summerslam following her match with Becky Lynch. While the numbers game may have been too much for Belair initially, she found allies in Alexa Bliss and Asuka. Damage CTRL leader Bayley then threw out the challenge to Belair for her title at Extreme Rules last week and Belair accepted.
We are live! Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton greet audiences at home as Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss head to the ring.
Belair grabs a mic and says that she considered challenging Bayley tonight instead of waiting for Extreme Rules, but she didn't because it wouldn't be just about the two of them. Belair says she learns from her mistakes and knew that IYO SKY and Dakota Kai would've interfered anyways. Belair says that Bliss and Asuka will be at ringside for Extreme Rules.
Damage CTRL's music hits and they head to the ring. Bayley says that the issues between her and Belair are bigger than just the two of them. She says Belair was groomed, handpicked and trained to be a champion, but people like her had to train themselves. She says that she's doing what she said she would: taking over WWE. Belair says that she has earned everything she's accomplished. She says that she has been "showing up and showing out" and she won't downplay her accomplishments. Bayley says she taught herself to walk and run again and everything BElair has accomplished was because she wasn't here. She says that she was main eventing WrestleMania before Bayley was injured and says she's afraid to face her alone. Bayley says "the past is the past" and challenges Belair to a ladder match at Extreme Rules. Belair tells her to "consider the ante up" and tells SKY she'll get extreme with her.
Bianca Belair vs. IYO SKY
SKY calls for a referee and the bell rings. Belair delivers a drop kick.
Back from the break, SKY whips Belair into the corner. Belair delivers a slam to SKY before locking in a waist lock. SKY escapes and Belair hits a snapmare. She delivers several shoulders to SKY's midsection, followed by a back breaker. She goes for a pin, but SKY kicks out. Belair rains down a few right hands, but SKY changes the tides after delivering the double knees to Belair's chin. She goes for a pin, but Belair kicks out. SKY hits a sunset flip, then goes for a pin but Belair kicks out. She shoves SKY to the mat before hitting ten right hands in the corner. She delivers a vicious forearm, then goes for a pin but SKY kicks out. Belair looks for the KOD, but SKY elbows her way out. She sets up Belair in the ropes, then delivers a running knee that sends Belair into the ring post.
Back from the break, Belair delivers a side slam to SKY. She follows it up with a shoulder tackle, a clothesline and a drop kick. Belair delivers a delayed vertical suplex, then goes for a pin but SKY kicks out. SKY steps on Belair's braid, followed by a kick to her midsection. Belair fires back with a bodyslam and a moonsault, then goes for a pin but SKY kicks out. SKY delivers a kick to Belair's head, then hits a diving crossbody. Belair catches her and hits a Fallaway Slam. She goes for a pin, but SKY kicks out.
The two women ascend to the top before SKY delivers an arm drag. She delivers the running double knees, then climbs to the top. Belair sends SKY into Damage CTRL, then hits them with a crossbody over the top. SKY delivers a few open plan strikes, then tosses her back in the ring. SKY jumps back into the ring and Belair manages to hit the KOD for the win.
Winner: Bianca Belair
We then head backstage to Kevin Patrick and Rey Mysterio. Patrick asks Mysterio about how he felt when Dominik asked him to hit him last week. Rey says that there's nothing like holding a newborn child and wanting what's best for them. Rey says he will never fight Dominik before asking what happened to the man that he raised. He says that Rhea Ripley is manipulating his heart, but he can't let that sway his focus as he goes into his match with Seth Rollins. He says that Rollins wanted Riddle to do more than hit him with a steel chair before saying he will show Rollins no mercy.
Back from the break, we head backstage to The Miz and a group of security guards. He says that he recruited them and is offering a reward of $1 million, a cameo in an upcoming Marine flim and career advice if they can do what he hired them to. He says that he wanted stealthy security guards and tells them that they are "The Miz Force." He sends them off to find "he who shall not be named."
Back at ringside, Seth Rollins heads down.
Rollins welcomes fans to Monday Night Rollins before introducing himself. He says that he should be standing in the ring as the new United States Champion, but isn't because of Matt Riddle. He says that he had Lashley in the center of the ring "dead to rights", but Riddle caused him to take his eye off the ball and cost him. He says Riddle has been a thorn in his side, but they will finish things at Extreme Rules inside The Fight Pit. He says that while the world says that he stands no chance in The Fight Pit, he came to the conclusion that he's Seth "Freakin" Rollins and it doesn't matter what type of match it is because he's been in every single one and won. He says he has the one thing Riddle never will before pointing to his brain. He says that while it may be his first time in The Fight Pit, Riddle will be flat on his back as the world sings his song. He addresses Riddle directly and says that he will give Rey Mysterio the beating he is too much of a coward to give his own son.
Rey Mysterio's music hits and he heads to the ring.
Seth Freakin Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio
Mysterio delivers a drop kick to Rollins before firing off several right hands before the bell rings.
Back from the break, Rollins delivers several boots to Mysterio's midsection. Rollins delivers another kick, but Mysterio fires back with a hurricanrana. Rollins delivers a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, followed by a right hand to his back and a side slam. He goes for a pin, but Mysterio kicks out. Mysterio delivers several forearms, followed by a sunset flip. He goes for a pin but Rollins kicks out. Rollins kicks Riddle in the head, then delivers a chop to his chest and a forearm.
Rollins charges at Mysterio, but Mysterio sends him into the top turnbuckle face first. He delivers a drop toe hold into the middle turnbuckle before hitting several right hands in the corner to his head. Mysterio delivers a back elbow, followed by a gut buster. Rollins tosses Mysterio out of the ring and under the bottom rope. Dominik Mysterio heads to the ring with a chair in hand. He pats Rollins on the back.
Back from the break, Rollins whips Mysterio into the top turnbuckle. He delivers a running knee, followed by The Three Amigos. On the third vertical suplex, Mysterio counters it into a DDT. Rollins looks for the Buckle Bomb, but Mysterio counters into a hurricanrana. Mysterio ascends to the top rope and hits the sit out. He delivers a crossbody off the ropes, then goes for a pin but Rollins kicks out. Mysterio sends Rollins into the middle rope, then dials up for the 619, but Rollins catches him and delivers the Buckle Bomb. Rollins looks for the Curb Stomp, but Mysterio blocks it and sends him out of the ring. He delivers a slide through the bottom rope, then tosses Rollins back in the ring. He delivers a diving splash off the top, then goes for a pin but Rollins kicks out. Mysterio delivers a drop kick to Rollin's back, then looks once again for the 619. Rollins moves out of the way and sends him face first into the canvas. He ascends to the top, but Mysterio meets him there. He delivers a hurricanrana, then delivers a 619. Rollins rolls to the outside before Mysterio meets him there with another one off the apron.
Dominik grabs a chair and tosses it to Mysterio. He invites Mysterio to hit him with it once again. Mysterio refuses and Rhea Ripley comes out of nowhere to hit him from behind. This allows Rollins to deliver the Curb Stomp and lock in the Peruvian Neck Tie before Mysterio fades.
Winner: Seth "Freakin" Rollins
We head backstage and see Matt Riddle watching on. Bobby Lashley approaches him and wishes him good luck against Damian Priest. He gives Riddle advice ahead of his Fight Pit match before telling him not to interrupt him ever again. He tells him he has Rollins right where he wants him.
We then see Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens head to the ring. Gargano kicks one of The Miz Force members that's completely knocked out.
Back from the break, we head to a promotional video for Connor's Cure featuring Bianca Belair and The Street Profits.
Alpha Academy then heads to the ring with American flags to loud boos. Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens follow.
Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens vs. Alpha Academy
Gargano and Gable begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. Gargano trips Gable before Gable fires back with a shoulder tackle. Gargano delivers a drop kick before both men tag in their partners. Otis looks for a shoulder tackle, but Owens no sells it. Owens delivers a drop kick, then Gable tags in. Owens delivers a back elbow, followed by a senton and moonsault. He goes for a pin, but Gable kicks out. Owens delivers a lariat before Gargano tags in. Gargano delivers a spear before Otis tags in. Otis sends Gargano straight into the mat with a Military Press.
Back from the break, Otis sends Gargano into his corner. He tags in Gable and Gargano delivers a kick to his face. He makes the hot tag to Owens, who delivers an atomic drop and a kick to Gable. He hits a back elbow, followed by the cannonball. Owens goes for a Swanton Bomb, but Gable gets his knees up. Gable looks to go flying, but Owens moves out of the way and manages to lock in the Sharpshooter. Otis breaks it up and tells the crowd to "suck it." Gargano tags in and delivers a kick to Gable's head. Owens tags back in and delivers the Swanton Bomb. He goes for a pin, but Gable kicks out.
Gable delivers a German Suplex before Gargano tags in. Gable delivers a Northern Lights Suplex. Otis tags in and the pair hit the Electric Chair. He goes for a pin, but Owens breaks it up. Otis delivers a clothesline to Owens on the outside before charging at Otis. Owens moves out of the way and sends Owens into the ring post. He gets him up on the commentary desk and delivers a flying elbow through the table. In the ring, Gargano delivers a lariat. Theory runs out of nowhere to cause the distraction, allowing Gable to hit the Chaos Theory. He goes for a pin but Gargano kicks out. Gargano takes Theory out with a super kick, followed by a DDT over the top rope for the win.
Winners: Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens
We then see AJ Styles heading to the ring as he passes one of The Miz Force laid out. Finn Balor approaches him and says that he's approaching him as his friend. He says that Judgment Day has already achieved so much, but the two of them together could change the business once again. Balor offers for Judgment Day to be his back-up in his match with Sami Zayn, but Styles declines and walks off.
We then see Omos and MVP head to the ring.
Back from the break, we head backstage to Austin Theory and Alpha Academy. Theory asks what happened. Gable says that Strowman messed up Otis before Theory says that would've been good to know. Theory's phone rings and he answers. He says it's for Gable and he puts it on speaker. Strowman challenges him to a match in his hometown next week and Gable says shoosh please as he looks terrified. Theory says that Otis will face Johnny Gargano next week.
Omos vs. Joey Gibson and Greg Lester
The three competitors wait in the ring. The bell rings and Omos grabs the two men by the throat. He tosses them out of the ring before sending Gibson into the ring steps. He sends Lester into the apron, then kicks him into the commentary desk. He delivers a lariat to Lester in the corner, then throws Gibson over the top rope and into the ring. He tosses them both into the mat, then pins them by stepping on top of the pair for the win.
Winner: Omos
After the match, Omos stacks the two men on the commentary desk as he stands tall over them.
We then head backstage to The Miz, where he sees The Miz Force all laid out near one another. Miz turns around and Lumis stands disguised right behind in an Oilers uniform. He hits Miz with a hockey stick before choking him out and stroking his face.
Back from the break, we head backstage to Austin Theory and Alpha Academy. Theory asks what happened. Gable says that Strowman messed up Otis before Theory says that would've been good to know. Back from the break, Nikki A.S.H. waits in the ring. Her opponent is...a returning Candice LeRae!
Candice LeRae vs. Nikki A.S.H.
The bell rings and LeRae trips Nikki. She delivers a drop kick that sends her out of the ring, then follows her but Nikki traps her in the ring skirt. She tosses her back into the ring before LeRae unleashes a series of forearms and right hands. She delivers a snapmare and a thrust kick. LeRae delivers a backstabber, then ascends to the top and delivers a swinging neck breaker for the win.
Winner: Candice LeRae
We head backstage to Judgment Day. Priest says he won't hold back in his match tonight and will have zero remorse for his former friend. He says that Judgment Day runs Monday Night "Raw" and says he has run his head into the clouds. He tells Riddle he's no longer a cage fighter and says that he will fall.
Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa then head to the ring, followed by AJ Styles.
AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn
The bell rings and the two lock up. Zayn delivers a shoulder tackle before throwing up the one. Styles delivers a hurricanrana and a drop kick. He delivers a chop, then sends Zayn head first into the top turnbuckle. Zayn delivers a back body drop, then goes for a pin but Styles kicks out before one. Zayn delivers an elbow to Styles' face off the middle rope, then tosses him out of the ring. Zayn goes flying off the middle rope to take down Styles. He tosses him back in the ring, then goes for a pin but Styles kicks out. Styles delivers several forearms and back elbows, followed by a sliding lariat. He delivers a knee to the back of Zayn's neck, then looks for the Styles Clash. Zayn escapes and Styles hits a Fireman's Carry Face Buster. He goes for a pin, but Zayn kicks out. He delivers a flying forearm over the top rope to the outside.
Back from the break, Zayn delivers a chop. Styles looks for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Zayn rolls out of the way. Styles rolls him up, but Zayn locks out. Styles hits a suplex into the middle turnbuckle, but Zayn counters with a big boot and a Blue Thunderbomb. He goes for a pin, but Styles kicks out. Zayn delivers a forearm, but Styles fires back with several of his own. He sends Styles to the mat with a modified Orange Crush, then goes for a pin but Styles kicks out. The two men spill to the outside before Zayn sends Styles into the ringpost and into the timekeeper's area. The two men begin to exchange forearms before Zayn delivers a big boot. Styles fires back with a Pele Kick.
Back from the break, Zayn delivers an Exploder in the corner. He sets up for the Helluva Kick, but Styles rolls out of the ring. Zayn tosses him back in before Styles locks in the Calf Crusher. Zayn makes it to the bottom rope to break the submission. While the referee is distracted, Sikoa hits Styles with a Uranage on the apron. This allows Zayn to hit the Helluva Kick for the win.
Winner: Sami Zayn
After the match, Judgment Day's music hits and the quartet head to the ring. Balor has a mic in hand and says it pains him to see Styles like this. He says that had Styles accepted their offer, the outcome of the match could've been different. Balor says that Styles deserves better and since he's generous, he's asking him to rise up and join the Judgment Day. Balor offers his hand to help Styles up and Styles accepts it. Balor throws up the Too Sweet and Styles looks to return the favor, but Styles instead flips him off.
Balor and the rest of Judgment Day launch an attack on him. They get his head into a chair and Balor looks as if he's going to stomp on his neck, but he stops himself.
Back from the break, Candice LeRae runs into Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka. Damage CTRL walks in and says she's feeling really confident after her win. Bayley says that if she wants a match against Dakota Kai, then she'll have to wait next week.
Down at ringside, Matt Riddle heads down.
Matt Riddle vs. Damian Priest
The bell rings and the two lock up. Priest pushes Riddle to the mat before the two lock up again. Riddle locks in a sleeper that he eventually turns into a Kimura, but Priest slams him to the mat to break the hold. Priest trips Riddle before Riddle fires back with the Broton. He goes for a pin, but Priest kicks out. Priest delivers a kick across Riddle's face, then whips him into the corner. Riddle manages to send Priest out of the ring before Priest sends him back first into the barricade.
Back from the break, Priest has a shoulder submission locked in. Riddle escapes and delivers several rapid fire chops. Riddle delivers a ripcord knee, followed by a belly to back suplex and a kick to Priest's chest. He goes flying off the ropes before hitting a powerbomb and a knee. He goes for a pin, but Priest kicks out. Riddle ascends to the top, but Priest pushes him off to the outside. He throws him into the barricade.
Back from the break, Riddle delivers a superplex to Priest. He goes for a pin, but Priest kicks out. Priest delivers several right hands to Riddle's midsection before Riddle delivers a knee to Priest's face. Priest gets Riddle up on his shoulders, but Riddle manages to counter into the Bro Down. he goes for a pin, but Priest kicks out. Priest delivers a clothesline and his finisher, then goes for a pin but Riddle kicks out. Riddle delivers a jumping knee, then rolls up Priest for the win.
Winner: Matt Riddle
After the match, Judgment Day wastes no time attacking Riddle. Priest delivers a chokeslam to Riddle. Edge's music hits and he makes his return! He spears both Priest and Balor before grabbing a mic. He says Judgment Day has tried to finish him over and over, but he always comes back. He says he doesn't quit before challenging Balor to an I Quit Match at Extreme Rules.
