  • Jon is the founder and operator of @sjsharkshistory on both Instagram and Twitter.
  • Jon has been a professional wrestling fan since he was in diapers. The way the story goes, he was being fussy on a day his mom was trying to clean the house and with nothing working, his mom finally put him in his highchair in front of the tv, which had wrestling on, and he was quiet the rest of the day. His his earliest wrestling memories are The Road Warriors against The Fabulous Freebirds, and running out of the room/movie theater whenever Zeus appeared.
  • Jon has a bachelor's degree in Communications with a Journalism concentration from CSU Monterey Bay, which sits on the former United States Army base, Fort Ord.

Experience

After graduating from CSU Monterey Bay, where he worked on the campus newspaper as both a beat writer and sports editor, Jon became a sports stringer covering high school football/basketball games for the local newspapers. In 2011, an opportunity presented itself for Jon to cover the Worcester Sharks (the then minor league affiliate of the San Jose Sharks) for FeartheFin.com, where he wrote over 400 game recaps in five years (he also did the first season of the San Jose Barracuda after Worcester was relocated and renamed).

Education

In addition to Sharks hockey history, Jon also loves pro wrestling history and recently read the following books: Rock Rims' "When It Was Big Time" about the San Francisco/Bay Area wrestling scene; John Cosper's "Original Black Panther: The Life and Legacy of Jim Mitchell" and "Bluegrass Brawlers: The Story of Professional Wrestling in Louisville"; and Brian R. Soloman's "Blood and Fire: The Unbelievable Real-Life Story of Wrestling's Original Sheik."
