Alexa Bliss Ends Two-Year WWE Absence, Enters Women's Royal Rumble In Fiendish Gear
Alexa Bliss made a surprise return to WWE as the 21st entrant in the Women's Royal Rumble match. Bliss had spent the past two years out of the company, last losing in a "WWE Raw" Women's Championship match against Bianca Belair at the Rumble in 2023 before taking extended maternity leave for the birth of her daughter in November that year.
She entered the bout wearing a jacket which read "Fiend Forever" and carrying her doll, Lily, which had last been seen violently ripped to shred after her loss to Belair. However, her return wouldn't last long, as she was eliminated from the bout by former Women's Championship rival Liv Morgan, and a similarly returning Charlotte Flair went on to win.
Reports broke about Bliss' impending return ahead of the event on Saturday, with the star spotted backstage to the apparent surprise of many. Plans for her return from maternity leave had reportedly been stalled with Bliss' representation and WWE struggling to come to terms on a potential new deal, and it was said that both of the respective parties had no immediate plans for her until the dispute was resolved. Whether that means she came to terms on a new deal is yet unclear. However, her outfit suggests that she will once again embrace her horror-inspired gimmick from her on-screen tenure with Wyatt.
Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt were good friends
Alexa Bliss was one of many people in the wrestling world who mourned Bray Wyatt's passing. Most of the sentiments about him revealed that the real-life Windham Rotunda was loved for his positivity, humor, and creativity, and Bliss echoed these claims. Following his death, she posted a video on X (formerly known as Twitter) in which she described working with him as a career highlight.
"Working with Windham was just so — it was magic. It was magic because being able to watch him in his creative element and be able to work with him really, you know, expanded my creativity. And being able to just watch him work, and work beside him, was just truly, truly an honor. And I still say to this day, [it] was the most fun I've ever had in my entire career in WWE. And I am so thankful that he allowed me and trusted me to come in and be a small part of his vision and his creativity."
It's clear that Bliss thought highly of Wyatt, and her Royal Rumble attire suggests that she wants to continue honoring his legacy. Hopefully, WWE will provide more answers about creative plans for her sooner rather than later, but there is one idea seems obvious.
Will Alexa Bliss join The Wyatt Sicks?
Alexa Bliss' return, coupled with her tribute to the late Bray Wyatt, will undoubtedly lead to some more speculation about her joining WWE's spookiest faction. The star's history with Wyatt is well documented, with the pair of them working as a team in the past. Now that Wyatt's brother Bo Dallas, aka Uncle Howdy, is spearheading the Wyatt Sicks faction in his honor, he might want to add Bliss to their ranks.
What's more, Bliss joining the Wyatt Sicks has been teased already. Prior to their absence from television, the group feuded with Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux, with the latter being attacked by Nikki Cross on an episode of "WWE Raw." Following the segment, Bordeaux took to social media and referenced Bliss, essentially blaming her for Cross' turn to the dark side and potentially setting up a future storyline.
Bliss becoming the faction's sixth member has been teased for months, with the star even taking to social media to share cryptic messages that further fueled the rumors. That said, Bliss' name has been brought up in regard to the Wyatt Sicks since the early stages of the group being conceptualized, though it remains to be seen if those plans are still on the cards. It's also possible that Bliss' Royal Rumble attire was a one-off as a way of paying tribute to Wyatt, and only time will tell if it leads to something more.
