AEW Collision 8/31/24: Women's Four Way Including Two Former Women's Champions

Welcome to Wrestling, Inc.'s coverage of AEW "Collision" on August 31, 2024 live from the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota!

Coming off a loss at "ALL IN", FTR will be in action against former ROH tag team champions, Undisputed Kingdom. Undisputed Kingdom (with Roderick Strong) were on the losing team on "Zero Hour". Both teams need a win.

In women's action, Serena Deeb makes her return to AEW in her first match since June. She'll be in a four way against Queen Aminata and former AEW Women's Champions Thunder Rosa and Hikaru Shida.

Hologram looks to continue his undefeated streak and will team up with Orange Cassidy and Kyle O'Reilly. They're taking on the team of Beast Mortos, Johnny TV, and ROH Pure Champion, Lee Moriarty.

Tomohiro Ishii looks to get back on track after losing to Hangman Page on this week's "Dynamite". He faces Kyle Fletcher, who lost to Ricochet on Wednesday. Komander is coming off a great showing on "Rampage" and will take on Buddy Matthews for the first time.

Kyle O'Reilly and Johnny TV start us off. They exchange kicks. Johnny takes KOR down with a shoulder tackle, but KOR put him in a submission hold. KOR tagged Cassidy in and they double teamed him. Hologram tagged in and they double teamed Johnny again. Moriarty tagged in against Cassidy. Moriarty took down Cassidy and then worked his arm. Cassidy spun in circles until he reversed out and worked Moriarty's arm.

Hologram and Moriarty face off. Hologram with a tilt-o-whirl, but Moriarty rolled him up. Moriarty and Hologram went back and forth with a teeter totter. Moriarty picked Hologram up, but he reversed and rolled him up. Beast Mortos with an armdrag on Hologram before double clotheslining Cassidy and KOR. He did lucha things.

Moriarty had Hologram in a chokehold, KOR put Moriarty in a chokehold and Johnny did the same to O'Reilly, and Cassidy had Johnny in one until Beast Mortos hit Cassidy to break it up. Mortos did a tope suicida and took out his own teammates. Hologram did a dive and took out everybody.

After the break, Cassidy and Johhny are squaring off. Cassidy sent Johnny to the outside. Moriarty had Cassidy, but he walked casually to his corner to tag in KOR. He teed off on Johnny. Mortos took a few kicks until he punched KOR and then took him down with a discus lariat.

Mortos takes KOR down with two powerslams and follows with an elbow drop. KOR put Mortos in a guillotine and took out his knee. Hologram tagged in and Mortos hit Moriarty because Hologram moved. Hologram cleaned house. Hologram got on the middle rope, but Johnny and Moriarty bounced the rope and sent him into Mortos, who took him down.

Cassidy took out Moriarty. Cassidy and KOR double team Mortos with kicks. Mortos stood up and grabbed their legs to take them down. Mortos headbutted KOR and then Cassidy did the Stundog Millionaire. Johnny forearmed Cassidy and KOR did the same. Mortos with a Samoan drop on KOR. Cassidy with a tornado DDT and an Orange Punch on Mortos.

All hell breaks loose and each team keeps sending in different members. Moriarty did a tope on Cassidy and KOR. Johnny with a Crucifix on Hologram. He went for the Starship Pain, but Hologram went up with him and did an avalanche Spanish Fly for the win.

Winner: Hologram, Orange Cassidy, & Kyle O'Reilly

Austin and Nese start off the match. Austin was backed into the corner and Daivari tagged in. Woods then tagged in. Austin had Woods by the war, but Bryce Remsburg made him stop. All six men were yelling at each other. Austin was sent to the mat and then the opposite corner. Premier Athletes kept him isolated. Nese thrown to the outside, but Premier Athletes continue to tee off on Austin.

Austin took down Daivairi and tagged in Robinson. Robinson took Woods and Nese with elbows. He did the Left Hand of God on Woods before doing a spinebuster. He slammed Nese and tagged in Colton. Colton slams Nese and Woods in the corner. He covered Woods for two. He went for the FameAsser, but Woods moved. Colten sent Nese into Sterling and knocked off the apron. Woods rolled up Colten. The Gunns double teamed Woods with a 3:10 to Yuma for the win.

Winner: Bang Bang Gang

Bennett and Harwood start us off. Taven took Harwood to his knees and yelled "I'm Matt Taven!" Harwood and Taven take turns taking the other down. FTR double team Taven. Taven backed Harwood to his corner so he and Bennett could double team. Taven with a missile dropkick. FTR double teamed both men. Harwood took Taven over the ropes & Bennett tried to save him, but was rolled up.

After the break, Harwood rolled up Taven, but the ref was turned. Harwood with a DDT. Wheeler fights his opponents by himself. Bennett with a discus forearm and they double team. Wheeler with a dive on them. FTR with stereo suplexes twice followed by a gut wrench. Taven with a back body drop. Wheeler rolled up Bennett. 

Wheeler put Bennett on the turnbuckle. Taven knocked Wheeler off the apron. Harwood tried to put Taven in a sharpshooter. Bennett with a Death Valley Drive. Taven tagged in and tried to double team Wheeler, but Harwood broke it up. They did the Shatter Machine on Taven, but he rolled out. Harwood did a suplex off the top rope on Taven and Wheeler did a splash from the opposite side for the win.

Winner: FTR

GYV attacked FTR after the match. James Drake told everyone that AEW is where the best wrestle and that's why they're here. It's the second time they've laid out the "Living Legends" and they've always been compared to FTR. They're tired of living in their shadows.

Turbo and Action start off the match. Jameson tagged himself in. He wanted to do a test of strength and Jameson kicked Andretti in the gut. Andretti dropkicked him into the corner. Turbo tagged in and Boulder tagged himself in. Rush tagged in and tried to shoulder tackle Boulder. Turbo tagged in, but Bronson tagged in. Darius tagged in and put him in a side headlock. Top Flight & Company took down Bronson. Bear took them all down. Jameson tagged in and Turbo tagged himself in. He had Darius on his shoulder, but Jameson pulled him over by the leg and pulled him down. He tagged himself back in. Darius kicked Jameson and got his corner. Dante tagged in and took down Jameson. He put him in airplane spin and hit a knee lift. He did the same to Bronson. Action launched off Dante into Bronson.

Boulder is in, but not legal. He did a double ax handle on Dante. Dante and Action try to pick him up. Rush and Darius help them suplex Boulder. Turbo got in and cleaned house. He accidentally hit Bronson off the apron. Rush pushed Turbo into Jameson and did a tope on Bronson. Darius and Dante double Jameson, while Andretti dove onto Turbo on the outside. Dante with a splash onto Jameson for the win.

Winner: Top Flight, Lio Rush, & Action Andretti

They start off the match with shoulder tackles and forearms. Fletcher started to get tired and ISHII caught him. Fletcher kicked him and put him in a headlock. They exchange shoulder tackles by bouncing off the ropes until ISHII took him down. In the corner, ISHII chopped his opponent. He sent him across the ring, but Fletcher powerslammed him.

Fletcher stood on the ropes and punched ISHII in the head repeatedly. ISHII took him out with a hard shoulder tackle. Fletcher used the rope to try to stand up. ISHII punched him over the apron. Fletcher with a brainbuster on the apron.

After the break, Fletcher with a forearm shot. ISHII sent him to the corner Fletcher kicked him and ISHII suplexed him. ISHII went for a backdrop driver and Fletcher stopped it. ISHII suplexed him and covered him for two. Fletcher tried to lift ISHII. ISHII chopped him and went to the apron and Fletcher hit him with a running knee and a tope suicida. Fletcher with a running boot. Fletcher suplexed ISHII, who landed on his feet. ISHII did his own suplex. Fletcher with discus forearm and lariat. Fletcher with a powerbomb, but he couldn't cover.

Fletcher kicked ISHII in the chin. They did lariats and ISHII headbutted Fletcher. ISHII turned him inside out, but Fletcher kicked out. ISHII picked him out, but Fletcher rolled him up. Fletcher picked up ISHII and lawn darted him into the turnbuckle. He put ISHII on the turnbuckle. ISHII hooked Fletcher, headbutted him, and did a hurricanrana. ISHII pinned him for two.

Fletcher with a brainbuster. Fletcher picked him up, but ISHII got out. Fletcher with a thrust kick and a running lariat. Fletcher with tombstone piledriver, but ISHII kicked out. Fletcher hit another one for the win.

Winner: Kyle Fletcher

Matthews gets wrist control and works his arm before taking him to the mat. He keeps control of the arm. Komander flipped himself over and he took wrist control. Komander gets Matthews to his knee. Matthews took him down and then put him in a side headlock before kicking him. Komander ran up his chest and hit the ropes. Komander went for a crossbody, but was caught. Komander sent him to the outside. Murphy got on the apron, but Komander kicked him off. Komander went for a dive, but was caught and suplexed on the floor.

After the break, they're battling on the opposite apron. Komander threw Matthews' legs through the rope and kicked his thigh. Murphy kneed Komander in the face. Komander with a tejares through the rope sent Matthews face first into the mat. Matthews with a back elbow. They exchange kicks. Matthews sent him to the mat with an uppercut. Komander with a jaw breaker, punches, and kick. They exchange more blows. Komander with a poisonrana. He follows with a tope suicida. Back in the ring, Komander did a moonsault, but was caught. Komander spiked Matthews.

In the corner, Matthews with a rising knee. Komander escapes and sweeped him off the ropes. Komander jumped off the top rope, but Matthews with a knee strike as he landed. Matthews with a pump handle slam for the win.

Winner: Buddy Matthews

After the match, Brody King came down to the ring. A video showed MxM Collection challenging them next Friday. Matthews grabbed a mic and said "it's your funeral."

The winner of this match will face Mercedes Moné for the TBS Championship at ALL OUT.

Shida kicked Deeb and Aminata kicked Rosa. Shida takes out the other three women. Shida sent Rosa into the other two and did a running knee. Shida punched Aminata in the corner and Rosa pulled her down. Rosa chopped Shida against the ropes. Rosa kicked Aminata. Deeb pulled Shida through the ropes and got in. She uppercut Rosa twice. They exchanged chops. Rosa with a forearm twist, but Aminata broke up the pin.

Aminata with a snap suplex on Rosa twice. Shida hit Aminata in the back and sent her to the outside. She kicked Aminata. Deeb had Rosa in a stretch and Shida kicked Deeb to break it up. Shida picked up Deeb, but Deeb blocked her. Rosa picked them up, but Aminata came to help Deeb to suplex them.

After the break, Aminata and Deeb double teamed Rosa in the corner. Rosa sent Deeb to the other corner. Deeb kicked Rosa. Shida pulled Deeb off the apron. Aminata with a release German suplex on Rosa. Aminata suplexed Shida. Aminata hip attacked both women in the corners several times. Aminata covered Shida for two.

Deeb forearmed Aminata to the mat. She clotheslined Rosa and Shida. Deeb with a neckbreaker on Rosa. Deeb with a dragon screw on Shida over the rope. Deeb with a swinging neckbreaker on Aminata. She put Shida in a single leg crab. Rosa did a running dropkick on Deeb. All four women are down.

Aminata tried to suplex Rosa, but Rosa fought her off. Aminata kicked her in the back of the thigh. Aminata went for suplex, but Shida ran at them. Rosa kicked Shida and flipped over Aminata into a backstabber. Rosa with a running boot into Shida and Aminata on opposite sides of the ring. Deeb breaks up a pin. She did a drop toe hold on Rosa. Deeb kicked Shida in the gut and she suplexed her. Deeb went for Shida. She did a hammerlock and lariat on Shida. Rosa with a stunner on Deeb. Aminata forearmed Rosa. Shida did a running knee on Aminata. All four women are down again.

Rosa and Shida are forehead to forehead. Deeb and Aminata roll them up. Shida and Rosa exchange forearms. Rosa with a suplex. Shida with a running knee. Shida went up top. Deeb tried to pull her down, but Rosa kicked her off the apron and went up top. Rosa with a hurricanrana. She thrust kicked Aminata. Rosa with a Death Valley Driver on Shida, but Deeb broke up the pin. Deeb picked up Rosa and dropped her. She put her in a single leg crab. Aminata kicked Deeb several times and then headbutted her. Shida jumped off the top rope, but Aminata blocked her. Aminata with a back body drop into a roll up. Shida with a forearm and an enzuiguri. She followed with a katana for the win.

Winner: Hikaru Shida
