AEW Collision Live Results 7/13/24: Number 1 Contender Match For The ROH World Title

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s live coverage of AEW "Collision" on July 13, 2024 from the Calgary Stampede in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Fresh off a win on "Rampage", Roderick Strong will face Dalton Castle. The winner will become the Number 1 contender for the ROH World Championship. They will face Mark Briscoe at "Death Before Dishonor" on July 26.

Strong won't be the only member of the Undisputed Kingdom in action. The ROH tag team champions, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, will face Orange Cassidy and Kyle O'Reilly. The titles will not be on the line. Undisputed Kingdom – particularly Strong – have been trying to recruit O'Reilly to join them. Strong also has history with Cassidy.

In another growing feud, Shane Taylor Promotions will take on Top Flight. These two Trios have been picking up wins and have been at each other's throats for weeks. In fact, they main evented "Rampage" last night with Taylor picking up the victory for his team.

Speaking of Trios, two-thirds of the Unified Trios Champions, the Bang Bang Gang will be in action. Also in action is former Women's Champion, Nyla Rose. Skye Blue picked up a win on ROH this week. She looks to continue her winning ways against Harley Cameron.

During AEW's last trip to Canada, we saw the debut of Tommy "Dynamite Kid" Billington. As his nickname suggests, Billington is the nephew of the late, great "Dynamite Kid". He will go one-on-one with Konosuke Takeshita.

We are welcomed to the show by Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness as Takeshita and Don Callis make their way to the ring.

Takeshita took Billington to the mat already and yelled at him. Billington took him down with an armdrag. Billington attempted to shoulder tackle Takeshita. It took him a few tries to take him down. After taking a breather, Takeshita returned to the ring. They took turns backing each other into the corners. Takeshita with a missile dropkick. Billington with a side headlock and shoulder tackle takedown. Takeshita dodged another dropkick and retaliated with punches in the ropes.

Billington with a crossbody while Takeshita was across the ropes and landed on the outside. Takeshita rolled to the outside where they exchanged blows. Billington slammed his opponent's face into the apron before rolling him in. Billington went up top and Takeshita ran his shoulder into him and followed up with back elbows. Takeshita bit Billington on his forehead and a superplex. He pinned him for two and then put him in a side headlock on the mat. Takeshita manipulated his arms. The two exchanged forearms. They exchanged waistlocks. Billington was thrown into the turnbuckle and fell out of the ring.

After the break, Billington was in control. He hit a big lariat and a snap vertical suplex. Billington went up top for a diving headbutt, but Takeshita picked him up and threw him across the ring. Takeshita went to the corner, but Billington moved. Billington went for a piledriver, but Takeshita reversed into one of his own. Billington reversed out and finally hit it, but couldn't cover Takeshita.

Billington went up top again for a flying headbutt, but Takeshita rolled out of the way. Takeshita pulled Billington from the apron into the ring, but Billington did a stand and switch. Takeshita followed with a Blue Thunder Bomb, but Billington kicked out. Takeshita went for another, but Billngton reversed into a roll up. Takeshita kicked Billington and he hit a back elbow. They traded blows before Takeshita hit a running knee for the win.

Winner: Konosuke Takeshita

After the match, Callis got in the ring to put over Billington. He asked Billington to join The Don Callis Family. Billington shook his hand and said to kiss his ass. Callis slapped him in the face. Billington decked Callis. Takeshita, Callis, and Kyle Fletcher beat him up. FTR returned to AEW and made the save.

Moore put Robinson in a side headlock. Robinson hit him in the midsection and the Gunns teed off on him. Austin tossed Moore over his shoulder. Clark tagged in as did Colten, who hit him with a dropkick. Lightning tagged in and Robinson with multiple Left Hands of God. Robinson set Clark up 3:10 to Yuma and Colten got the pin.

Winner: Bang Bang Gang

Colten said Robinson is officially a Trios champion. Robinson said that Jay White is on the mend, so he's taking his place. Christopher Daniels stripped them of the titles instead. The Patriarchy came out to tell Daniels to anoint them as Trios champions. Daniels said the winners of Bang Bang Gang vs. The Patriarchy will be the new champions. The Bang Bang Gang wanted to fight right now, but Cage refused.

The Outrunners lifted Castle to the apron where Undisputed Kingdom was waiting. They reversed out of waistlocks. Strong slapped Castle repeatedly in the back of the head. Castle took Strong down and Strong scrambled to the ropes and rolled out of the ring. Castle threw him down and put him in a headlock. Strong reversed out and kicked Castle in the nose. Castle went to the outside where The Outrunners hulked up to get him fired up.

Castle ran around the ring, but stopped because of Taven and Bennett. Castle with body shots and picked Strong up on his shoulders. Strong got out and made Castle hit his head on the turnbuckle. Castle with a running knee to take Strong off the apron. On the outside, Strong punched him in the face. Castle used the ropes to spin his legs around into Strong. Castle argued with Taven and Bennett. The Outrunners flexed at them. Strong did a baseball slide into Castle.

After the break, Strong was in control with chops. Castle suplexed Strong and punched him when got up. He sent him down twice more. Castle made him faceplant the mat. Castle kneed Strong in the ribs and followed with a gut wrench. He took him down a second time. Strong retreated to the corner for a rope break. Castle went running to the corner, but Strong rolled out and Castle spilled to the outside.

On the apron, Strong hit Castle in the back. They exchanged blows and Strong slammed him onto the apron. Strong went for a spear, but Castle put him in the Bangarang for two. Castle put him in it again, but Strong reversed out and hit him with a running knee for the win.

Winner: Roderick Strong

Rose put her in a waistlock, but Lawless elbowed out and got in several punches. Rose stopped a lariat. Rose chokeslammed her. Rose slammed her in the corner and followed with a vertical suplex. She tossed Lawless down and kicked her in the face. Rose hit Lawless with a Besatbomb for the win.

Winner: Nyla Rose

Moriarty and Dante start us off. Dante put Morarity into a wristlock. Moriarty with Dante an armdrag. Dante pulled Moriarty down and rolled him up three times. Dante with an armdrag and laid his knee into Moriarty's ribs and followed up with it again. Darius tagged in and dropkicked Moriarty. He back Darius into the corner so Ogogo could be tagged in.

Ogogo hit him in the corner and followed with a running forearm. He pinned Darius for two. In the corner, Ogogo kicked him several times in the gut. Dante caught the armdrag. Ogogo hit him the stomach before putting him on his shoulders. Dante shoved into the corner and tagged in Dante.

Ogogo tried to pick up Darius, but Dante pushed his legs down, which set Dante up for a suplex. They double teamed Ogogo. Darius tagged in and he put Ogogo in the corner. Ogogo flipped Darius onto the apron, but Darius forearmed him in the face. Darius elbowed Moriarty. Ogogo laid Darius over the middle rope and let go to distract the ref. This allowed Moriarty to kick Darius's arm out from under him.

After the break, Moriarty was working Darius's arm. Darius forearmed him while Moriarty kept wrist control. Moriarty went for a discus elbow, but Darius intercepted for a suplex. Dante and Ogogo tag in and immediately exchange forearms. Moriarty tried to stop it and Dante hit him with a knee. Dante did a crossbody from the top rope. He pinned Ogogo, but he kicked out. Ogogo tried to put Dante on his shoulders, but Dante got down. Dante went for a spinning kick, but Ogogo caught his leg. Dante tried to pin him, but Ogogo rolled out of the ring.

Dante hit a running knee and tagged in Darius. Dante jumped over Ogogo and then Ogogo ran Darius into the corner. Ogogo tossed Dante into the air and uppercutted him to the outside. Moriarty tagged in and Darius dropkicked Ogogo. Moriarty reversed out a hold and gut wrenched Darius. Moriarty punched Darius in the head several times. Darius returned strikes. Moriarty went for a full nelson, but Darius slipped between the ropes and kicked him in the head from the outside.

Shane Taylor grabbed the foot of Darius and made him fall onto the mat. Andretti climbed up top and dove on Taylor. Moriarty rolled up a distracted Darius for two. Darius face planted Moriarty for the win.

Winner: Top Flight

After the match, STP beat up Andretti.

Blue and Cameron grabbed each other by the hair. Saraya distracted Blue and Cameron tried to roll her up. Blue kicked Cameron in the stomach. Cameron threw her into the ropes and held her foot on her neck. Blue returned the favor. Cameron kicked her in the head from the apron. Cameron elbowed Blue in the side of the neck several times. Cameron tried to pin her, but Blue kicked out for one. In the corner, Cameron punched at Blue and Blue got down and hit Cheeky Nandos and kicked her to the outside.

Saraya and Blue exchanged words and Cameron took her down with a Russian Leg Sleep and then grabbed her by the neck and slammed her head down.

After the break, Blue was in control with a snapmare. Blue slammed her down and pinned her for two. Blue put Cameron on her shoulders, but Cameron got in elbow shots. Cameron rolled up Blue twice. Cameron rolled her up once again. Cameron with a running knee and a pin for two. Blue got to her feet and Cameron with a lung blower. Blue with a heel kick and a Crucifix Drop. Blue put Cameron in a submission hold for the win.

Winner: Skye Blue

Cassidy and O'Reilly turned their backs on their opponents when they got in the ring. KOR and Taven exchanged words and Bennett tagged in. Bennett got out of the ring and he and Taven went to the outside. Tried of their crap, Cassidy did a tope suicida. Cassidy put Bennett in the ring. Cassidy went up top and jumped over Bennett. Bennett with a shoulder tackle takedown. Cassidy with an armdrag takedown. Bennett did one of his own and Cassidy did another one. Bennett went for another, but Cassidy held his arm in the air and Bennett fell down.

Taven tried to suplex him and Cassidy shoved him into Bennett. He did a back body drop on Taven. He put Bennett in a side headlock. Bennett pushed Cassidy into the ropes. Cassidy put his hands in his pocket and rolled out of the ring. O'Reilly got in and kicked Bennett. Taven attempted a spinning heel kick, but KOR caught him. Taven poked him in the eyes. Cassidy with a Stundog Millionaire on Taven. KOR with a discus forearm on Taven before putting Bennett in an ankle lock. Bennett sent KOR into Taven who kicked him from the apron.

Cassidy punched Taven. He sent Bennett to the outside so he could do another tope suicida. Bennett with a heymaker to Cassidy on the outside. KOR put Bennett in a sleeper over the ropes. Bennett with a guillotine to break the hold. KOR put him in a sleeper hold. Taven with a running kick to KOR while he was on Bennett's shoulders. Cassidy pulled Bennett off of KOR. Cassidy with a shotgun dropkick and Taven with a running kick to Cassidy. O'Reilly grabbed Taven, who punched him. KOR took Taven down and Bennett sent him into the ropes, which set O'Reilly up for the double clothesline.

After the break, Undisputed Kingdom double teamed Cassidy and isolated him in the corner. Cassidy kicked Taven in the face. He leapfrogged Bennett, who went through the ropes. Cassidy crawled to his corner, but Bennett grabbed his leg. Cassidy kicked Bennett to the outside. Taven put him in an ankle lock, but KOR tagged in. KOR took on both members of Undisputed. KOR worked Bennett's elbow and followed with a back body drop. Taven tried to break it up and KOR focused on his leg. KOR with body scissors on Bennett, but Taven with a springboard enzuiguri. Taven and Bennett double teamed KOR. Taven with a neckbreaker. Cassidy broke up the pin. Taven threw Cassidy out of the ring.

Taven went up top and KOR reversed out of Bennett's grasp and knocked Taven off the turnbuckle. Cassidy with a spinning DDT on Bennett. Cassidy went for the Orange Punch and Bennett punched him in the face. Cassidy went for Beach Break, but Taven grabbed Bennett's hands. KOR kicked Taven off the apron. KOR held Bennett over the top rope while Cassidy held up his lower half. KOR did a running knee on Taven.

Cassidy did a Beach Break for two. Strong left commentary. KOR tagged in, but Strong distracted him from the apron. ISHII grabbed Strong off the apron and they fought. On the other side of the ring, Trent Beretta grabbed Cassidy and threw him into the barricade. Bennett rolled up KOR for two and then KOR punched him. Bennett hit a forearm and KOR put him in an armbar, but Taven broke it up. Undisputed Kingdom with a double team piledriver for the win.

Winner: Undisputed Kingdom

After the match, Beretta choked Cassidy while yelling at him. Beretta attacked KOR, but Bennett and Taven stopped him. Cassidy hit Bennett with a monkey wrench. KOR stopped him from attacking Bennett and Taven. ISHII took out Bennett and Taven before raising Cassidy and KOR's hands.
