AEW Collision Coverage 2/10/24 : Orange Cassidy Defends Title Against ISHII
Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s live coverage of AEW "Collision" for February 10, 2024! We're live from The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nevada.
Orange Cassidy will put his International Championship on the line against fellow CHAOS member, Tomohiro ISHII. This will be their first time facing each other in singles competition. They wrestled as a tag team against The Butcher and The Blade in November 2021.
Fresh off of a win on "Dynamite", AEW Women's Champion, Toni Storm will face Queen Aminata in a non-title match. Aminata has been having excellent matches between AEW and ROH. Storm's "Revolution" opponent, Deonna Purrazzo will also be in action. She will take on Kiera Hogan. Hogan has been busy on Honor Club.
The Black Pool Combat Club vs. CMLL feud continues with a tag match. Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley will take on Star Jr. and Esfinge. BCC picked up a win on "Dynamite". CMLL got a win on "Rampage" when Mistico defeated Matt Sydal. Following the match, Team CMLL made it clear they want to face BCC on their turf in Arena Mexico.
In a backstage segment on "Rampage", Brian Cage wasn't impressed with HOOK. He said he can also take on two guys and that's what he'll do on "Collision".
Daniel Garcia looks to continue his "Collision" hot streak against Shane Taylor. Taylor has had impressive showings himself as of late.
A few weeks ago, House of Black attacked Daniel Garcia prior to the "Escape the Cage" match and Mark Briscoe was going to replace Garcia if needed. When Briscoe came out for the match, he was attacked. Briscoe looks to get revenge on HOB's Brody King
Adam Copeland returns to "Collision". Who will step up in the "Cope Open"?
Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Star Jr. & Esfinge
Kevin Kelly, Nigel McGuinness, and Tony Schiavone greet us on commentary while Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli leave their dressing room. Castagnoli is beat up following the match with CMLL stars on "Dynamite".
Star Jr. and Esfinge make their way to the ring as Schivaone tells us that Star Jr. is a second generation wrestler and Esfinge is a third generation wrestler. Star Jr. and Moxley get the match started with a collar and elbow into a side headlock. Moxley quickly gets him to the mat. Star Jr. returns the favor as they continue submission moves. Castagnoli had enough and stomped Star Jr. Moxley backs him into the ropes, but he gets hit in the mouth.
Castagnoli gets tagged in and promptly gets double teamed. They were preparing for dives on the outside when BCC walked away. Castagnoli and Esfinge exchanged submission holds. Esfinge gets caught in a Big Swing and tags Moxley back in.
Moxley puts Esfinge in the corner to rain down punches. Castagnoli tagged back in as does Star Jr. Star Jr. pushed Castagnoli into Moxley and rope walked. He did some fancy move, which put BCC on the outside. This time, they connected with the stereo tope con hilo.
Castaganoli catches Star Jr. with an European uppercut as we head to break. After break, Castagnoli and Star Jr. are in the ring. Esfinge is tagged in and puts Moxley in the corner. Esfinge goes between his opponents. Esfinge nearly pins Mox, but Castagnoli breaks it up. Star Jr. hits Moxley with a running lariat and follows with a twisting dive on Castagnoli. Esfinge nearly pins Moxley. Moxley takes him down with a clothesline and rolls him up.
Mox and Esfinge exchange forearms. Esfinge hits Mox with a running knee strike and as he staggers, Star Jr. gets tagged in. Esfinge gets stuck between BCC and chops them both several times. Castagnoli hit the Ricola Bomb, but can put him away. Moxley put Star Jr. in an arm bar and forces him to tap.
Moxley grabs a mic and tells them to take this message to Mexico or anywhere else in the world, "if they want to step on, they'll get stepped on." FTR comes to the ring and exchange blows with BCC. The locker room has to separate them.
Daniel Garcia vs. Shane Taylor
Daniel Garcia makes his way to the ring as Daddy Magic makes his way to commentary. Shane Taylor is joined by Lee Moriarty, while two men hold up a Shane Taylor Promotions banner. This is a first time matchup.
Garcia and Taylor lock up before Garcia gets Taylor in a waist lock. Taylor goes for a haymaker, but misses. Garcia focuses on Taylor's arm. Taylor responds by punching Garcia in the face. Taylor connects with a haymaker. While Garcia can't get to his feet, Taylor dances. Garcia goes to the corner and Taylor loudly slaps Garcia's chest. Daddy Magic exclaimed, "No thank you!" Garcia takes him down and put him in an ankle lock. Garcia stands on his leg, but is knocked off the apron.
Following the break, they exchange blows. Taylor takes Garcia down with a headbutt. He went for a leg drop, but Garcia crawled across the ring. Garcia got in a few punches and got Taylor to the opposite corner. He continues to focus on the knee with running dropkicks. Taylor pops him up and hits him with a haymaker. Garcia got his shoulder up. Taylor sets up for a package piledriver, but Garcia takes out his knee. Garcia tries to lift Taylor, who reverses into the back body drop. Garcia twisted Taylors knee until he tapped.
Backstage, Eddie Kingston calls out the Young Bucks for what they did to Sting and Darby Allin. He also calls out Danielson for taking away Bryan Keith's moment. Kingston challenges Danielson for "Revolution". When Kingston wins, Danielson has to shake his hand.
Brian Cage is accompanied to the ring by Prince Nana to face The Outrunners. The mascot of the Vegas Golden Knights is there to cheer on The Outrunners. Truth takes a beating from Cage and tags in Turbo. He's promptly taken down with a clothesline. Cage double suplexed them before putting Truth in a deathlock.
The mascot did the "Nana Dance". Prince Nana did it with him and Cage pushed him down. Cage picked up the mascot and HOOK came out. The two scrapped on the ramp and backstage.
In a backstage segment, Roderick Strong has been waiting eight years for a rematch with ISHII and if ISHII wins, he's coming for the International Championship.
Adam Copeland talks
Due to the rankings, Adam Copeland has his choice of title to challenge for at "Revolution". He wants to eventually challenge Eddie Kingston for his "dozens of titles." Copeland insinuates that he wants the TBS Championship, but is interrupted by Garcia.
Garcia believes championship opportunities should be earned by wins and he has also been racking up wins. Garcia thinks he deserves a shot. Copeland respects Garcia and proposes that they have a match on "Dynamite". The winner faces Cage at "Revolution".
Backstage, Renee Paquette talks with Willow Nightingale, Kris Statlander, and Stokely Hathaway. He compares them to "Full House". Nightingale's feelings are hurt that Skye Blue left them, but she wants to fight Nightingale. Stokely says Tony Khan has him blocked and he can't ask.
Brody King vs. Mark Briscoe
Brody King is accompanied by Julia Hart. Briscoe is full of energy as he makes his way to the ring. McGuinness says Briscoe has an eighth kid on the way.
Another match starting off with a collar and elbow. Briscoe chops King and King is in the corner. Briscoe hits him with chops and punches. King carried Briscoe forward and tossed him. He followed up with a cannonball. King stepped on his face and then chopped him. In the opposite corner, Briscoe continues to be assaulted. King did a back body drop onto Briscoe. Briscoe makes it to the corner, only to be chopped again. King slung him to the other side, but Briscoe pulled him down over the second rope for a guillotine and then kicked him in the face through the ropes. Briscoe got a chair and did a running dive onto King. Briscoe found a table, but Rick Knox told him he can't use it. Briscoe dove onto King again, but was caught in the air. King smashed him into a security guard's chair.
After the break, King was still in control. Briscoe got in some chops and Redneck KungFu. King is in the corner when Briscoe runs at him and King landed across Briscoe's leg on the top rope. Briscoe stood on the turnbuckle to get in punches before biting his head. King is knocked to the outside and Briscoe did a moonsault onto King. Briscoe stands on the barricade to celebrate. Briscoe put King back in the ring.
Briscoe uses the ropes to try to knock King down. King put Briscoe down with a lariat. Briscoe returns to forearm chops. Briscoe goes up for the Froggy Bow, but is distracted by Hart. King pushes him off onto the table. King puts Briscoe in the ring and in Gonzo Bomb for the win.
Hart hit Briscoe in the forehead with a spike.
Deonna Purrazzo vs. Kiera Hogan
Bryan Keith wants everyone to pay up.
Keira Hogan and Deonna Purrazzo start off with a test ot strength and Hogan goes to the mat. They exchange pin attempts. Purrazzo kept wrist control and put Hogan's arm behind her back. Hogan hits a hip attack. They exchange forearms in the corner. Purrazzo pulls Hogan down and goes after her arm again. Purrazzo continues to work on the arm. Hogan gets in some offense, but is quickly put on the mat. Hogan hits a few forearms and a thrust kick.
Purrazzo faceplants Hogan, but Hogan kicks out. Hogan hits a shotgun dropkick from the top. Purrazzo hits Hogan with a big boot. Purrazzo hits Hogan with a running knee and a Russian leg sweep, before putting Hogan in the Venus di Milo for the win.
Bryan Keith wants everyone to pay up.
Deonna Purrazzo vs. Queen Aminata

As Purrazzo was on the ramp, Toni Storm, Mariah May, and Luther make their way to the ring. Storm and Purrazzo stare each other down before the champion gets in the ring.
Storm tries to intimidate Queen Aminata before putting her in a waist lock. Aminata wrenches Storm's arm. Aminata is taken to the mat and Storm works on her arm. Aminata gets the one-count. Storm puts Aminata in a side headlock and takes her to the mat again. Aminata puts Storm in a scissor lock. Aminata straddled Storm's arm and rubbed her butt on Storm's head. Storm yelled, "how dare you!" before posing for her closeup.
Following the break, Storm has Amianta in a full nelson. Aminata powers out and puts Storm in a back body drop. Aminata rolls up Storm and hit her with a clothesline. Aminata suplexed Storm and follows with a running knee. Aminata set up for suplex and Storm hit a snap DDT.
Aminata suplexed Storm again. Storm crawls to the corner and Aminata goes for a hip attack, but is knocked down. Storm hit her own hip attack. Storm hit a small package piledriver for the win.
Storm addresses the crowd about her "impressive technical match". On "Dynamite", she will debut a new short film. She told Purrazzo "that the pain of not being so much as a tiny wart on my butthole will haunt you for the rest of your bloody life!"
Orange Cassidy vs. ISHII
Orange Cassidy makes his way to the ring alone. ISHII's left knee is wrapped. Cassidy got out of the ring while ISHII made his entrance. Cassidy takes a few moments in the corner to get prepared.
They start with a collar and elbow and Cassidy kept trying to get ISHII to budge. ISHII backed him into the ropes. ISHII backed away as Cassidy put his hands in his pockets. ISHII shoulder tackled him and Cassidy rolled out of the ring. Cassidy wants ISHII to come outside. ISHII obliges and Cassidy got in the ring. Cassidy hit a couple of shoulder tackles. Cassidy knocked ISHII down.
In the corner, Cassidy hits ISHII with forearms. ISHII walked forward as Cassidy kept hitting forearms. He's backed into the opposite corner where ISHII chopped him so hard that he fell to the ground. Back on his feet, ISHII chops him to the mat two more times.
After the break, Cassidy hit a twisting DDT and then hit a tope on the outside. Cassidy hit the ropes, but ISHII grabbed him. The champ spiked his opponent. Cassidy went up top and hit another DDT, but ISHII got his shoulder up.
ISHII is in the corner and gets Cassidy's patented kicks. Cassidy hit a running dropkick. ISHII and Cassidy chase each other into the corners. Cassidy and ISHII take turns taking the other down. A "this is awesome!" chant breaks out.
Cassidy hits forearms and ISHII punches Cassidy and pins him. Cassidy gets his leg on the rope. In the corner, ISHII put Cassidy in a vertical suplex on the ropes. ISHII pins Cassidy for two. ISHII sets up for a powerbomb, but suplexes Cassidy instead. ISHII chopped Cassidy repeatedly, but he won't go down. Cassidy drops to the mat before ISHII can chop again.
ISHII picked him up by the head. He hits another forearm. ISHII takes Cassidy down and Cassidy rolls him up. Cassidy hits a sunset flip. ISHII headbutts Cassidy. ISHII went to the ropes and Cassidy hit the Orange Punch and the Beach Break, but ISHII got his shoulder up.
Cassidy got back up on his feet and went for an Orange Punch, but ISHII reversed into a dragon suplex. He hit Cassidy with a lariat and goes for the pin. Cassidy kicks out. ISHII hits a forearm and Cassidy kicked ISHII in the chest. ISHII hit an enziguri. He sat Cassidy up for a sliding lariat. Cassidy kicked out and ISHII yelled in frustration. ISHII went for a brainbuster, but Cassidy reverses into the Orange Punch, but ISHII doesn't go down. ISHII headbutted Cassidy and blocked another Orange Punch. Cassidy rolled up ISHII for the win.
Cassidy struggled to get up and was attacked by Undisputed Kingdom. ISHII came back to the ring to save him. Trent ran down with a chair, but Undisputed Kingdom had already scattered.
