Speculation On Will Ospreay's Potential WWE Future

UK-based wrestler Will Ospreay recently addressed the possibility of relocating and said that he was "open to all avenues." On the latest episode of the "Wrestling Observer Radio" show, veteran wrestling reporter Dave Meltzer spoke about the current IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion.

"I know some stuff," Meltzer said. "I mean, I know WWE is absolutely after him, and he is absolutely going to listen to WWE. I think at the end of the day, there's a lot of different things that could happen, but I think he's going now for the best offer possible.

"He's got a family. He wants his son to go to a good college. [He] wants to make money now, and not that he hasn't made money. He's made money with New Japan and on his indie shows, but obviously AEW and WWE are a step above money-wise."

Earlier this month, Meltzer suggested that Ospreay would not sign a full-time deal with WWE due to his reluctance to move away from the United Kingdom. However, it appears that Ospreay would now be willing to discuss a possible permanent gig with the Stamford, Connecticut-based promotion.

Ospreay, who is contracted to New Japan Pro-Wrestling until February 2024, was stateside this past weekend for IMPACT! Wrestling Bound for Glory 2023. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion defeated "Speedball" Mike Bailey at that event.
