Details On Kota Ibushi's Rumored Appearance At AEW Dynamite: Blood And Guts & More

The Elite are in need of a fifth man for the upcoming Blood & Guts Match against the members of Blackpool Combat Club, and they're narrowing in on securing their new teammate.

Fightful Select reports that former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi has been in conversations with AEW with many of the mindset that the former NJPW star will be involved with the brutal bout set to take place in Boston. Ibushi's presence has been teased in recent weeks with the idea that Kenny Omega has gone looking for an old friend from out of the country – - a bill the "Golden Star" very much fits.

Ibushi has not wrestled since WrestleMania weekend, when he worked two shows for GCW — Bloodsport and Joey Janela's Spring Break. Prior to that, Ibushi had been on the shelf with a shoulder injury. Plus, there was the matter of his acrimonious falling out with NJPW, leading to some speculation that Ibushi would not come to AEW in order to prevent any unnecessary strain between the two companies. However, Ibushi looks to have made amends with NJPW, with discussions of a new contract for his return occurring.

The BCC is also looking to fill in a missing spot, caused by Bryan Danielson's injury at Forbidden Door. However, there have been no indications yet as to who they may select for the opening.
