Drew McIntyre Among WWE Stars Featured In Video Packages After Night Of Champions
Even though he didn't have a match at WWE Night of Champions, the fans watching at home still got a glimpse at Drew McIntyre during the broadcast from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this afternoon/evening.
After the premium live event concluded, a series of vignettes aired on Peacock featuring a number of popular WWE Superstars such as WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, Smackdown Women's Champion Rhea Ripley, and "The Scottish Warrior." These videos, which typically air as filler on the streamer between broadcasts, highlighted the wrestlers' careers and journeys in the company so far.
However, this is noteworthy because there is some speculation regarding McIntyre's future in the promotion. Despite being drafted to "WWE Raw" in the 2023 WWE Draft, he hasn't wrestled a match since the Intercontinental Championship triple threat match at Wrestlemania against GUNTHER and Sheamus. Since then, he hasn't appeared on WWE programming. Though he has had to deal with nagging injuries and a loss in the family during this time off, it's also been said that there have been creative differences between himself and WWE. Since those reports emerged, it's also been said that there's a "good chance" that the two-time WWE Champion could leave at the conclusion of his current contract.
While it's possible that McIntyre's video package was a random inclusion on the stream, this was also one of very few "appearances" he's made on WWE TV since the "Showcase of the Immortals." And as talks regarding his WWE contract status and future continue, fans of "The Chosen One" can only hope that this won't be his last.
