Athena To Defend ROH Women's Title Against Kiera Hogan Next Week On HonorClub

Ring of Honor Women's World Champion Athena has found her next challenger, Kiera Hogan. During the May 25 edition of "ROH on HonorClub," Hogan faced VertVixen and while the match went on Athena watched it from the entrance. Later on in the show, Athena defeated Promise Braxton in a Proving Ground Match and after the match, she tried to attack her, which caused Hogan to come out and get the best of the champion.

An upset Athena later spoke with Lexy Nair backstage and announced that she is going to defend her title on the June 1 edition of "ROH on HonorClub." Athena has been the ROH Women's Champion since defeating Mercedes Martinez at Final Battle on December 10, 2022.

The upcoming match won't be the first time that Athena had defended the ROH Women's Championship against the former Impact Wrestling star either. They faced off for the first time on the December 26, 2022 edition of "AEW Dark: Elevation." 'The Fallen Goddess' has also defended her title against the likes of Emi Sakura, the newly crowned NJPW Strong Women's Champion Willow Nightingale, Marina Shafir, Miyu Yamashita, and Yuka Sakazaki.

This week's episode of "ROH on HonorClub," also featured ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe and New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Zack Sabre Jr. teaming together to defeat Matt Sydal and Christopher Daniels in the main event, Also, ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli defeated Serpentico in a Proving Ground match, and ROH Tag Team Champion Penta El Zero Miedo was in action and defeated Slim J.
