Becky Lynch Challenges Trish Stratus To Match At WWE Night Of Champions

When Trish Stratus turned on Becky Lynch a few weeks ago, the WWE Hall of Famer wanted to teach her a lesson. Monday night on "WWE Raw," "The Man" came around Greensboro, North Carolina to thank her. That is, before challenging Stratus to a match at Night of Champions. Lynch recalled the moment that set her off. It wasn't when she found out that the former seven-time Women's Champion turned her back on Lita. Or even when she threw the match in order to ensure Lynch was no longer a Tag Team Champion. Instead, that moment was when Stratus called her daughter stupid. Suddenly that presented a face, name, and target for "all the badness" inside her head. It also reminded her of what her purpose was.

After reminding Stratus that she used to be number one in the business, the message was loud and clear. "I will be it until I say it is over," Lynch declared. "And I will show you how thankful I am when I kick your head in at Night of Champions." The match has yet to be made official, but a contract signing is being promoted for next week's "Raw."

Notably, Stratus has wrestled twice in 2023 after not appearing in a match at all since 2019. Assuming this match is made for Saudi Arabia on May 27, however, it will be just her first singles match since suffering a defeat to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam in August 2019 in front of her hometown crowd in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
