Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa Getting Tag Title Shot At WWE Night Of Champions
At Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on May 27, The Bloodline will get another chance to win back the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship. Only, it won't be Jey and Jimmy Uso facing Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. During Friday Night "SmackDown," Paul Heyman announced that The Bloodline pulled some strings in getting themselves another title shot. Except this time it'll be Solo Sikoa teaming up with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.
Main eventing night one of WrestleMania 39, The Usos saw their historic reign end. Then on the April 28 edition of "SmackDown" in a WrestleMania rematch — one they dedicated to their Tribal Chief — they failed again, much to the disappointment of Reigns. Things got heated tonight as a result, with him demanding an apology from Jimmy specifically before shoving him in the face. Jey ultimately stepped forward to apologize on their behalf, but it was too little, too late. After promising to bring the tag titles back to The Bloodline, Reigns declared that he'd be dedicating their victory that night to "the greatest tag team of all time." Not The Usos, but rather, The Wild Samoans.
While it's certainly noteworthy that Reigns and Sikoa will be battling for tag team gold, it's even more noteworthy that Zayn, who is of Syrian descent, will be wrestling in Saudi Arabia at all. Due to the relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia, he has not made the trip to the Kingdom to perform at a WWE event in nearly a decade. Not only that, but his lifelong best friend and tag team partner Owens has not worked a WWE event in Saudi Arabia since the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018.
