Shocking Turn Ends Jon Moxley-Kenny Omega Steel Cage Match On AEW Dynamite

In a stunning conclusion to the May 10 episode of "AEW Dynamite," Jon Moxley defeated Kenny Omega in their steel cage match after Don Callis turned on Omega.

In the final moments of the bloody steel cage match, Callis initially saved Omega from getting mauled by a screwdriver-wielding Moxley, which allowed Omega to hit Moxley with the One Winged Angel. However, as the referee counted, Callis intervened again and interrupted the pin by attacking Omega with the screwdriver he had just saved him from. That left Omega incapacitated for Moxley to pin him and pick up the win in the main event of "Dynamite."

The turn from Callis mirrored the ending of the "Winter is Coming" special of "Dynamite" in 2020, which featured Callis helping Omega win the AEW World Championship from Moxley. Whether or not the turn indicates Callis possibly being involved with the Blackpool Combat Club remains to be seen. Callis' 2020 turn to help Omega win the AEW World Championship led to multiple crossovers between AEW and Impact Wrestling, which ended up seeing Omega hold the Impact World Championship for nearly an entire year alongside the AEW Title.

The May 10 "Dynamite" had no shortage of head-turning segments and surprises, from the re-emergence of both Miro and Thunder Rosa to AEW President Tony Khan's teaser of a "huge announcement" for next week's show. Though the exact nature of Khan's announcement is unknown, it's expected to relate to the details of a new TV deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery.
