Brian Kendrick Reportedly Working For WWE Part-Time As A Producer
After little in the way of public developments for almost six months, Brian Kendrick and his curious status with WWE are back in the news. In November, Kendrick was reportedly brought in at Ronda Rousey's request to produce her Survivor Series match with Shotzi, as he was Rousey's original pro wrestling trainer, but it was made clear that he had not been hired back. On Monday, though, PWInsider Elite reported that he "is being brought in from time to time when needed to work in a producer capacity."
There was no elaboration given in the report as to why Kendrick is needed at the times he's being brought in. It's also not clear if this uncommon arrangement, with WWE using a freelance producer, has anything to do with not wanting to hire someone who was fired by AEW in February 2022 after videos resurfaced of Kendrick spreading white supremacist and antisemitic conspiracy theories.
It was a year ago last week that Kendrick spoke publicly on his AEW firing, claiming on the "Duke Loves Rasslin" podcast that he never believed the things he said, but was instead attempting to build his wrestling persona around conspiracy theories, and would attempt to atone by volunteering for the Survivor Mitzvah Project, which provides support to Holocaust survivors. Later that month, however, former friend and tag team partner Paul London recalled on René Duprée's Café De René podcast that their friendship became strained after Kendrick started an argument about the legitimacy of the Holocaust death toll with a mutual friend who he knew had lost family members in that genocide.
