Game Changer Wrestling presents 56 Nights 2023 from the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. GCW's first event of 2023 will see the Do or Die Rumble return, with the winner receiving a shot at the GCW World Championship at any time of their choosing. So far, Mike Bailey, Willie Mack, Tony Deppen, Masha Slamovich, Sawyer Wreck, Nick Wayne, Blake Christian, Effy, Jordan Oliver, Joey Janela, and Alec Price have all been confirmed as participants in the over-the-top-rope elimination match. Meanwhile, the reigning GCW World Champion Nick Gage, who last successfully defended the gold against Deppen at GCW Amerikaz Most Wanted on December 16, will attend today's New Year's Day show to keep a close eye on the action.

Two Singles Matches Opened The Show
Masha Slamovich vs. Cole Radrick
Radrick and Slamovich locked up as the match got underway. Both wrestlers attempted to gain the advantage while down on the canvas. Slamovich trapped Radrick's left arm in a submission. Slamovich took Radrick down again with a clothesline. "Raddy Daddy" responded and sent Slamovich to the floor. The feed ended up being cut due to sound issues.
As the feed returned, Radrick and Slamovich were battling at ringside. Slamovich delivered a suplex to Radrick on the hard floor. Back in the ring, Slamovich caught Radrick with a spinning back kick. Radrick landed a kick of his own and delivered a neckbreaker. Radrick continued to build momentum. Slamovich eventually stopped Radrick in his tracks. Radrick connected with a stunner. Slamovich responded with a piledriver variation to win.
Winner: Masha Slamovich via pinfall
Nick Wayne vs. Leon Slater
Wayne and Slater immediately locked up after the bell rang. Both wrestlers reached a stalemate after showcasing their agility. Wayne eventually sent Slater to the floor and dived through the ropes to wipe him out. Wayne took control of the bout as the action returned to the ring. Wayne focused on Slater's left leg in an attempt to keep him grounded.
Slater responded with a flying elbow after hitting the ropes. Wayne replied with a stunner after hitting the ropes. Wayne connected with a big kick to Slater's head. Slater got back on his feet and sent Wayne to the outside. Slater dived over the ring post to take out Wayne. Back inside the ring, Slater began to build momentum and hit a flurry of moves.
Slater and Wayne both landed on their feet following a high-risk move from the top rope. Slater and Wayne delivered a series of kicks to take each other down. Wayne appeared to have a laceration on his face. The match began to take its toll on both performers. Wayne landed a combination of moves, but Slater eventually caught him with Blue Thunder. Slater attempted a high-risk move and landed on his injured left leg. Wayne took advantage and delivered two Clout Cutters to pick up the victory.

Do or Die Scramble and Four-Way Match
Jordan Oliver vs. Blake Christian vs. Tony Deppen vs. Joey Janela vs. Alec Price vs. Willie Mack in a scramble match (the winner will enter the Do or Die Rumble as entrant #30)
It was revealed by ring announcer Emil Jay that the wrestler to take the losing fall in the match would be replaced in the Do or Die Rumble. All six competitors attempted to pull off a maneuver. The action picked up, which led to Deppen initially taking control. Price returned to the ring and connected with a bulldog. Oliver entered the ring and fought with Price. Mack delivered a headscissors to Oliver and took him down with a big shoulder tackle. Janela and Mack battled in the ring. Janela elevated Mack and dropped him on the canvas with a suplex. Christian returned to the ring and took out Janela.
Deppen took off his shirt and choked Christian with it. Christian eventually sent Deppen to the floor. Price went after Christian and sent him to the outside. Price pulled Mack into the ring. Mack took Price off his feet with a flurry of moves. Deppen attempted to go after Mack. Deppen sent Mack down with a knee strike. Oliver took out Deppen. Janela sent Oliver out of the ring. Janela delivered a moonsault from the corner onto three performers below. Christian landed a combination of moves on Janela.
A series of leaps to the outside occurred, with Christian being the final competitor to fly over the top rope to wipe out the remaining performers in the match. All six wrestlers returned to the ring as the match began to take its toll. All six competitors exchanged chops and strikes. Christian eventually stole the win after pinning Janela, who had initially been taken out by Price. Christian will now enter the Do or Die Rumble at #30, with Janela missing out on the match altogether.

Maki Itoh vs. Billie Starkz vs. Dark Sheik vs. Sawyer Wreck in a four-way match
Itoh came down to the ring with a pizza cutter while Nick Gage's music played. Starkz immediately grabbed the pizza cutter from Itoh as she entered the ring. Itoh grabbed a microphone and asked where her gang was at. Sheik went for an early cover on Starkz after the bell rang. Itoh initially took control of the match. Wreck went after Sheik. Sheik connected with a dropkick. Starkz and Wreck went at it. Itoh returned to the ring and fought Wreck. Itoh headbutted Wreck, Sheik, and Starkz. Itoh piled the three wrestlers on top of each other, but Itoh missed a falling headbutt.
Itoh struck Wreck with repeated forearm shots. Itoh planted Wreck into the canvas with a DDT. Starkz sent a wooden door into the ring. Itoh delivered a double DDT to Sheik and Starkz. Itoh trapped both Sheik and Starkz in a Boston crab. Starkz took Sheik down with a lariat. Starkz attempted to build a door bridge in the ring. Sheik was wiped out on the floor by Starkz. Wreck placed a wooden door on top of two chairs in the center of the ring. Wreck chokeslammed Sheik through the door. Starkz drove Wreck into the canvas. Itoh landed a DDT on Sheik from the turnbuckles to secure the victory.
Winner: Maki Itoh via pinfall
- GCW World Champion Nick Gage made his way down to the ring. Itoh grabbed the microphone from Gage. Gage and Itoh did the MDK hand gesture. Itoh said Gage's MDK catchphrase. Itoh was carried backstage on Gage's back.
First GCW Deathmatch of 2023
Matt Tremont vs. Mad Man Pondo in a deathmatch
Tremont and Pondo shook hands before the match got underway. Pondo and Tremont sat on chairs in the middle of the ring and traded punches. Both wrestlers ended up outside the ring. Two fans held a bundle of tubes across the face of Pondo as Tremont threw a cinder block. Pondo replied by sending a shopping cart with tubes attached into Tremont. Back in the ring, Pondo grabbed a blade and cut open the forehead of Tremont. Pondo used the blade in Tremont's mouth.
Tremont hammered a fork into the head of Pondo. Tremont placed a bundle of tubes across Pondo as he lay on the canvas. Pondo got back to his feet. Tremont was placed upside down in the corner and Pondo launched a cinder block at him. On the outside, Pondo placed Tremont's arm in a cinder block and sent him crashing into the ring post. Upon returning to the ring, Pondo used a saw blade as a weapon on Tremont. Pondo kicked a bundle of tubes between the legs of Tremont in the corner.
Pondo smashed a stop sign over Tremont's head. Pondo brought two chairs the fans were sitting on into the ring. Pondo placed a stop sign and trash can filled with tubes on top of the chairs. Pondo shattered a cinder block between the legs of Tremont with a sledgehammer in the corner. Tremont sent Pondo down from the top turnbuckle into the tube-filled trash can placed on top of the chairs. Tremont emerged victorious following a standing splash.

Do or Die Rumble
30-person Do or Die Rumble
Jordan Oliver entered #1 and Leon Slater entered #2 to start the match. Slater took Oliver down with a headlock. Oliver attempted to dump Slater out early. 1 Called Manders entered #3. Manders immediately delivered a series of chops to Oliver and Slater. Manders and Oliver eventually worked together. Tony Deppen entered #4. Deppen took his time to enter the ring. Deppen pushed Manders and Oliver out of the way to work on Slater. Slater attempted to fight back against Deppen, Manders, and Oliver. Starboy Charlie entered #5. A four-way chop battle occurred between Deppen, Manders, Oliver, and Charlie. Slater leaped from the top turnbuckle to take out the four wrestlers below. Deppen was the first person eliminated from the match.
Marcus Mathers entered #6. Mathers entered the ring all fired up and eventually delivered a leaping destroyer to Slater. Dyln McKay entered #7. McKay and Mathers of Wasted Youth worked together. Nick Wayne entered #8. Wayne delivered a Code Red to Mathers. Wayne and Oliver shook hands and began to work as a team. Shane Mercer entered #9. Mercer immediately threw Wayne and Oliver across the ring. Mercer eliminated McKay and Mathers. Sam Stackhouse entered #10. Stackhouse and Mercer fought. Mercer eliminated Stackhouse.
Yoya entered #11. Yoya hit Mercer with a low blow and took him down with a headscissors. Mercer lifted Yoya and threw him over the ring post. CPA entered #12. Mercer attempted to throw CPA out of the ring. Manders eliminated Mercer. Miedo Extremo entered #13. Extremo brought a wooden door with him and set it up outside the ring on top of two chairs. Mago entered #14. Mago showcased his agility upon entering the match. Ciclope entered #15. Ciclope brought another wooden door down to the ringside area. Mago was eliminated after being put through a door on the floor.
Kerry Morton entered #16. Morton soaked up the boos from the fans and took his time getting in the ring. Facade entered #17. Morton was still walking around the ringside area. Effy entered #18. Effy gave Morton some roses. Morton hit Effy with the roses. Effy sent Morton over several chairs on the floor. Mance Warner entered #19. Warner got down to business and took the fight to everyone in the ring. Effy and Morton continue to fight on the floor. Effy put Morton through a table. Alec Price entered #20. Effy officially entered the match.
Billie Starkz entered #21. Starkz was immediately eliminated by Warner. Charlie was next eliminated. Price eliminated Manders. Cole Radrick entered #22. Morton was still lurking outside the ring and had yet to officially enter the match. Allie Katch entered #23. Katch connected with several hip attacks in each corner of the ring. Masha Slamovich entered #24. Slamovich immediately went after Radrick. Slamovich eliminated Facade. Jimmy Lloyd entered #25. Slater was eliminated during Lloyd's entrance.
Morton was forced into the ring by Effy. Effy eliminated Morton. Dark Sheik entered #26. Sheik entered the ring and fought with Lloyd. Ciclope kissed Katch in the corner of the ring. Effy eliminated Ciclope. Willie Mack entered #27. Lloyd immediately got in Mack's face. Mack delivered several stunners to everyone in the match. John Wayne Murdoch entered #28. Murdoch brought tubes down to the ring with him. Murdoch eliminated Katch, Sheik, and Lloyd. Murdoch smashed a bundle of tubes over Slamovich's head. Matt Tremont entered #29. Murdoch and Tremont went back and forth. Tremont eliminated Murdoch. Mack was eliminated by Wayne.
Blake Christian entered #30. Radrick was eliminated during Christian's entrance. Oliver shocked Wayne by eliminating him. Warner and Tremont exchanged punches. Warner and Tremont traded headbutts on the apron. Tremont eliminated Warner. Oliver connected with a big boot to eliminate Tremont. Christian eliminated Effy. Tremont and Warner continued to brawl as they headed to the back. Christian eliminated Oliver. Christian and Price were seemingly the final two. Price was eliminated after Christian speared him on the apron. Slamovich reappeared after quietly leaving the ring earlier in the match. Slamovich ultimately eliminated Christian to win.
Winner: Masha Slamovich
- Christian raised Slamovich's hand and then kicked her in the face. Christian placed Slamovich's head in a steel chair and connected with a knee strike. Akira came out to fight Christian. Christian launched a chair at him and delivered a kick to the face.
